I called up and they said - even if we dont recharge for 3 months, it would start working whenever we do our next recharge. No need to have any minimum balance like we do for prepaid mobile.We can cotinue anytime by just recharging our subscription.
 
I watched DishTV on TOSHIBA LCD and also operated it to see how it functions. I really tell you guys, DishTV sucks big time. Menus are horrible, picture and voice are just not up to the mark.Now i realize, no matter how many faults BIG TV has but it is the BEST choice for now.Lets give them some more time and it would come out as the best provider (may be we will talk again on 12 Nov 2009 and scenario would be changed).We are over reacting on a new player. BIG TV is still a new player compared to Tata Sky and DishTV. Lets give them some more months to grow and improve.

Even AIRTEL is brand new player, than BIG.
How are they are able to give Good Service than BIG in all, aspects, except for the Number of channels, in the Inaugral offer.

Airtel thinks on Long Term customers, where as BIG just want numbers.
God knows, how much people will keep BIG after free 1 Year Subscription, as their monthly subs are very high, Starting 175 Rs Month [ South India ]
Most of my friends who bought BIG are calculating in a different way.
They are getting plenty of channels for 1 Year at Just 180 rs / Month [ 2190/12] and after that Nothing for 175 Rs. So They will throw it out after a year and go for another who gives better deal.
Reliance is following the same mobile phone strategy which will not work here.
I still remeber 1000's of Reliance phones floating in Koovum River [ Famous Drainage River in Chennai, once known as Buckingham Canal, by British], when the people were asked pay heavy monthly rents.
 
Few days ago, I lodged a complaint to a consumer court and they emailed them regarding my complaint. Now after getting a legal email complaint from government consumer court, they reverted back to me with following:

Seems like they have started using their email ID: [email protected]

I got a call from them to ask my feedback and i did complaint about slow changing channels and STB hang. Then they raised a complaint and emailed me complaint number from that email and soon within an hour i got a call from local engineer to confirm about a complaint lodged and said he will be coming within few hours to check and resolve.

Now i think they have started funtioning fully and soon they will crack down the market with their best services.

I would like to request you all (whoever is suffering from BIG TV and their Big Bloody Services) - email to consumer court on [email protected] and they will help you out putting a case file and resolving issues (by the way, this is a FREE service government started for us) - Use it the maximum you can. I already sorted out my internet problem and many others as well.
 
nice work designwebgraphic with more compaints like this ,hope they change the STB or the software,since the software they are using right now has issues which i guess is responsible for the problem. well as for as me is concerned i directly talked to bangalore BIG TV manager ,he himself accepted the slow channel changing,he has forwarded to the technical team in chennai.since repeated visits by the engineer failed to solve the problem ,who latter admitted they cannot do much then forward it to their superiors,they also accepted the fact that they dont give a 16:9 signal,yet the CC continues to tell they are giving a 16:9signal.i will give them about a month or even till new year after that will take it the court for deficency in service,since their products fails to give a 16:9 signal while they have advertised it has 16:9 signal,also but most importanly about the channel change and STB hanging Issue.bcause i can live with a 4:3 signal but not the hanging and sluggish responce of the STB.
 
Thanks. I think we must all do that.Make a complaint and see how fast they would work to resolve lot many such of the issues.

Yes, tell them all the problems that we are still facing ---> Set Top Box is not functioning well. Getting hanged, faulty hardware Not giving value for money what we paid. We paid full money and now not getting a satisfactory service. They dont have any refund policies. We feel like we have been cheated by the company. I wrote that. Just explain it properly in your own wordings and send them alongwith your and their contact details. Dont forget to mention their expensive top-up prices.
