Reliance Big TV DTH STB Model 1 and Model 2

As far I know, model-2 has digital audio connector and CAM slot (no idea whether these things really work or not, though!)Model-1 is proven... (to have the hanging problem) Whereas there are no reviews about model-2, so it may be either devoid of this problem or may be having many other unknown issues making it worse

Both Model 1 and Model 2 STBs have RF Out, Composite Video Out, Component Video Out, Stereo Audio Out, USB Port and CAM Slot. Only Model 2 STB has Dolby SPDIF Out and all connectors are gold (or is it gold colour) plated. The big difference between the two STBs are in the front panel console. However, the performance of both are at par.

These pictures have been taken from the User Manual of Big TV.

I talked to my local Reliance webworld guy, and he told me that they dont have the Model 2 in stock right now. He said that some new stock will arrive on monday, and that could have some of the Model 2 STBs.

So, now I am waiting till Monday to get Big TV.

I checked with my local reliance webworld. The new STB is still not available, he told me earlier that they are expecting new stock on monday. But the new stock doesn't have the Model 2 of STB. If anyone is able to get the new Model, then please post your comments.

I talked to 4-5 dealers and reliance world but could not get the Model 2. So, finally I bought Model 1.

Guess they are clearing the old stock first, as they would have manufactured plenty of model 1 stb , expecting high no of sales :huh:
