Reliance Jio Fiber STB picture quality issue.

Ok so let's get back to main discussion about picture quality. So there are 3 blue coloured hybrid set top box variants with almost similar specifications but all seem to have some issues like
1. Washed out colours or distorted colours.
2. Low resolution picture specially with some live TV channels.
3. In general even apps such as YouTube, Hotstar, Jiocinema appear appear SD quality only despite showing Full HD in settings/nerds stats.

So now what can we do about it. Technician offered me that he would change my set top box but I believe it won't make a difference as they all seem to be same as others have also reported similar picture quality issues.

May be then we all should bombard jio customer care with complaints regarding picture quality or write emails explaining picture quality issues. Ask them to replace all defective set top boxes , or provide software updates which might correct picture quality.

Issue could be the one I mentioned poor colour calibration (box sending limited rGB and not full rGB) or HDR issue as someone suggested.

I have used lot of china based set top boxes and I believe the hardware specifications specially CPU/gpu is good . It seems to be using amlogic s905x2 with mali g31 mp2 which is quite good same as my Mecool set top box. So I believe may be just a software update will settle picture quality issues.

Can someone pls confirm if you are able to get 4K resolution from your Jio set top box on your 4K tv? I have JHS D200 v2 and I am only seeing 1080p 50Hz resolution on my 4K TV. Initially I thought my TV settings are incorrect but after trying multiple things including trying different HDMI cables but nothing helped. Did anyone have any success with real 4K? Without 4K how are they calling it "4K set top box"!!!

There is no 4k resolution option in mine but its 2k @50 Hz

@milansadaria i guess the 4k option will only be available to select if the video content in the app supports 4k

@Nitin I too thought so and tried playing 4k video in youtube but stats for nerd shows 4k video resolution but player resolution is 1080p. So we need some setting in set top box to change HDMI output resolution to 4k, which unfortunately today is not present in settings.

Anyone has any idea about the specs of the Airtel Xtreme STB ? Thought it would be interesting to compare it with Jio's.
