i got my tooth removed. it was painful. dentists usually suggest the easier way out and it usually is the best way to get rid of the pain. :D

----------

and yeah i know i am not being very helpful. it sucks.

I have started ONE alternative therapy since last Friday. This therapy does not require any medicines or injection or touching tooth at all.

My pain is gone completely as of now. I tried to bite my own finger by putting it over that tooth. There is no pain. I even tried to chew roti on that side of jaw. There was no pain.

alternative therapy or medicines will provide palliative treatment only(relieving
the symptoms, without treating the underlying cause)

Yesterday doctor hit it with his mirror tool, it didnt pain either.

Only once or twice it pains very very mildly and goes in 4-5 seconds too.

Now does this mean that alternate therapy is working?

maybe alternate therapy or your immune system is at work.

Is there a preliminary way that I myself can find out if infection is curing? Doctor just looked at tooth once (without xray) and say YES ROOT CANAL is required. Now what do they see that so instantly he came to know that its required?

you try to see the condition of pulp and periodontal ligaments in an x-ray.
if any of 'em show variations from the normal root canal or extraction
are advised according to the severity of problem.

Since I have 8-10days, I am just trying other ways before I finally go for root canal (if required then)

choices are simple.get root canal or leave your tooth as such.the second
choice may cause problems in the future though.

Also the cap is not on the tooth as of now, tooth is open. So does it cause in any risk? I clean tooth well immediately after eating.

as there is no cavity, the progression of the bacterias will be very slow.

But the 2nd doctor didnt see X-RAY, he just saw tooth for 1 second and said yes ROOT CANAL is reqd. so what did he see?

even 1st doctor, she also didnt come to immediate conclusion after seeing x-ray, she first said there is a break and then asked to wait for 2days. then on 2nd visit she said root canal is reqed.(even if i didnt feel pain while drinking hot tea)

do u mean, not putting a cap on tooth is ok??

right now i have no pain, but i cant chew from that side because cap is not there.

Xray is only a secondary diagnostic tool.a dentist can usually formulate the treatment based on the visual condition of the tooth.as i said earlier, not putting the cap on the tooth will render it useless.it can only be put on the tooth after doing the root canal.delaying may cause change in the alignment of teeth, which will require a new cap(i'm writing via mobile,so this post may not look properly formatted)

Thanks again for replying, but I am not able to get it clearly if putting cap or not makes difference. It is ok for me if I have to change the cap.But does it pose any risk if cap is not there for abt 10-15more days?More update abt tooth, touch wood but from yesterday afternoon or so, I have totally forgotten that there is problem with tooth. i.e. no pain at all, not even that mild pain i used to have earlier.

In case you don't mind cap being changed,10-15 days won't make much of a difference.btw some explanations are getting lost in translation i guess :)

thanksnow i just need to find a way to know if infection is gone from tooth.(because of alternate therapy i am trying)i need to find 3rd dentist now, because i am not sure if first two will give honest opinion. i dont doubt or mis-trust them. but i feel they still wud be bit biased by previous opinion.honestly though the way 2nd dentist, i feel that any other dentist will also say same :D

Like i told you, infection can be cured but the source(tooth),still remains.a tooth has three major parts:enamel, dentine and pulp present in that particular order from outer surface towards inner.when a tooth is cut, like in your case, for capping, the dentine part gets exposed which contains offshoots from pulp called dentinal tubules.enamel doesn't have any blood supply,so bacterias accumulating on it(plaque) are not transmitted to the inner parts of the tooth.some breach in enamel can lead to exposure of dentine, which transmits bacterias into the pulp through dentinal tubules.this breach may occur bcos of various reasons like cavity, attrition of teeth, abrasion of teeth, tooth fracture etc.in your case the cause was the cutting of tooth for capping.now in most of the cases no problem occurs after capping as cap is put usually between 1-3 days after cutting(bacterial invasion through dentine takes weeks to months).rarely though problems are seen in the capped tooth which can't be predicted beforehand.so in these cases cap is removed and root canal of the tooth is done after which same or different cap is again put on the tooth.now even though you're free from symptoms, the source of the problem, the infected tooth still remains.till that is not treated you may face problems in future.the alternative therapy cannot correct the damage that has your tooth already suffered.(written via mobile)
