Yes, Jio Launch is delayed for another 3 months as I speculated it originally. We might see in the last quarter only.

Jio's implementation is as shit as our Government.

@ajgamer I believe if BSNL shapes up then it can capture the fibre market much before Jio even launches.

Not sure how it boils down in metros but in Tier 2 cities, where the External cables were laid around 6-9 months back, the Internal testing trails have already begun and for few areas have been completed. They were stuck with some Natural calamities (Squirrels eating fibre cables passing through trees, as they seem to have bon appetit for the gel inside the cables) , otherwise the Installations should have started by now. Never the less, the team expects to start the Installation for such areas in a months time.

They have alraedy laid OFC in most posh colonies in Gwalior MP and OLT roadside in different locations. Trials also started in these colonies

I am from Delhi and currently having Excitel connection. Have applied for the Jio fiber connection which will be installed in few days.

After reading few reviews , I am not sure if I made right decision or not.

Can someone who is using it Jio connection help me with following:

1) some says Jio restrict some sites/applications. But isn't site ban as per government regulation which is applicable to all ISP in India? Is jio blocking some extra sites as well?

2) I am not into gaming. I do online streaming, downloads etc, is speed good with it?

3) I have read about some privacy issues. Can someone please explain how is it more dangerous with Jio then let say with Excitel or any other broadband provider in India?

4) Does jio have any peering arrangement with sites like youtube, Amazon etc.

1. Jio blocks way more sites than govt requires. Even legit sites like streamable etc are blocked along with porn sites. There were reports of Jio also blocking VPNs.

2. speed is good. 100mbps.

3. Jio has incentive to collect data from its users since it also owns jio 4G. It can therefore theoritically collect our data and we wouldn't be any wise. However this is all just speculation

4. No idea about peering but youtube/prime/netflix all load fast and play 4K without buffering

Has your friend checked with Jio for explanation or has found the way to access legitimate sites?

Also is torrent /Kodi accessible on jio or that too has some issue?
