Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

Are LCOs contemplated for big cities like Hyderabad and other metros? Depending on LCO for last mike connectivity will be asking for trouble . Not dependable at all

Jio working through LCO....... And people have high hopes......
I am not talking about conflict with LCO.... but the service delivery model of Jio Gigafiber, that is through LCO.....

Airtel has been able to maintain quality because they are working directly without any intermediate partner..... And most people were speculating that Jio will deliver good service as it will be serving directly to customer............. but with LCO model, these conflicts are bound to happen and ultimately customer will suffer....

Although IMO Excitel is providing good service through LCO model but not all LCO's are good...... so you can see in this forum itself how many times people have blamed Excitel..... And in case of Jio gigafiber since they will have Triple Play....... it will be three times the trouble......
Distribution is a big overhead........ Equipment, space and manpower........ I do not think with prevalent prices i.e. 50Mbps [email protected]/-.... Jio is going to invest in that.....
So I was right in guessing the distribution model of Jio......... and as I see things rolling out...... there is nothing much to look forward unless good streaming content is bundled at competitive price.....

and my only apprehension which would most probably turn true..... shutting down of Thop & Oreo etc, at commercial launch of Jio Triple Play...... which might push people to turn to Jio Triple Play for streaming content......

since they have decided to go with LCO route I hope they won't switch to FTTN model. Provide fiber to lco and use their existing network lol

they wont do that as they advertise ftth and my lco already installed fiber cable upto my pole since last year he said form the begining that jio will provide connection thru them and it will take 2-3 years total .....there are underground jio ofc(cabinet) 500m from my house too .....

In towns and areas where jio fiber is running, jio data + iptv. In other areas, jio data injected into existing cable network is a possibility. This way LCOs will have a role to play, without much investment from jio.
If we take signal from LCO , then TRAI rates will apply for channel subscription . Then all channels of Jio TV will not come. Then do we have to pay LCO additionally for the channels we select ? I don't think LCO will play any role except facilitating last mile connectivity . Signal will only be JIO IPTV . So it will be same for rural or urban areas .

LCOs will take tv signal also from jio only (IPTV). So trai rules not applicable. They get paid for laying and maintaining the cable network by jio.

Then why should set top box have separate provision for accepting LCO and JIO signals . That was the doubt which I had .That is why I also concluded that LCO is only for last mike connectivity .
