Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

So Jio is behind me offering their FTTH connection in Bangalore (Kasturi Nagar - OMBR Layout), I had expressed interest on their site. Over the last 2-3 days, 3 people have called me, and I have asked them to come tomorrow, I might just take it as a backup. There is only a refundable Rs 4500 security deposit at this point and no rental or recurring charges.

Will meet the guy tomorrow and see how it goes.

So the guy came today, but apparently my house is not feasible yet. They have service some 100-200 metres away but not near my building yet, so they said will get back to me in 15-20 days. Let's see! ;)

This is the brochure they gave

Zero charges for 90 days until commercial "lunch" in India?! I am hungry and that 100mbps of 1.1TB FREE DATA sounds like the healthiest and tastiest lunch or should I say lunches I'll ever have!

You know what's equally good? you get a solid gigabit AC router for absolutely free along with a home phone, childhood memories of having those fat corded phones that my grandfather never allowed me to touch can finally be fulfilled.

And you know what's equally bad? Jio is censorio! Looks like I am going to be on a VPN 100% of my time now.

Could you speedtest to 3-4 ISPs of Mumbai rather than one?

This will give the clear picture.

Also, Speedtest.net to Excitel and ACT Fibernet in Delhi.

I'll be able to get to know if the routing is fixed or not :)

P.S.: Just testing one server sometimes doesn't reveal the picture. So always speedtest, local servers, other metro city server and singapore.

I applied for the connection (free preview offer) couple days back and forgot to ask the guy about this..but on the flyer he gave to me it is written '100GB monthly data for 3 months, after that speed is reduced to 1Mbps'. How are you guys getting 1.1 TB/month? And is this 1.1 TB only for first 3 months or can we get it for longer? because 100GB is too less for me. I need at least 300 GB per month. I am fine even if I have to pay some money for it....The guy said that this free preview offer may continue for even 1 year, not just 3 months...So I f I cant get more data (either free or by paying) then this Free connection would be useless for me. :(
