Hi Dhananjay, I've been using the Galaxy S for some time now, and I have faced similar issues. Have you installed external sd card ? If so check it's speed try operating without that. (just a guess.) I've upgraded to froyo as well, I used to use the nexus one a very good phone no lag no complaints, till my niece dropped it hard. I guess gingerbread is on it's way on the galaxy. Any ways just try what I told you maybe u'll see an improvement ? let me know.....
Hi shailendra,I am not using any external card as of now.planning to buy 8GB card but wil buy once this performance issue is solved. I got an 8GB card of my 5800xm. Wil put that and check performance.Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
i would suggest buying a high quality good speed card. i think memory cards are available in different speed models. and a slower card might ruin the user experience on the phone. this has been one of the reasons why WP7 devices does not support expandable memory officially. microsoft plans to sell their own branded memory cards that would be authorized to be used on their devices in the future.
Dhananjay , y do you think there is a fix called lag fix for Galaxy s ? Because its there on stock rom, it will be there unless fixed by samsung, or by custom rom, but I ain't doing that not risk free and not worth my time, if you want to take some risk go ahead and you may get improved performance, but beware there must be some new issues after that, nothing is ever 100% good.Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
@admin,I think 8GB memory card which came with my Nokia 5800XM is a good one. You are right about slow speed memory cost. IMO this slow speed memory card issue should not be the sole reason for windows not providing a memory slot on win7 mobiles. There are good brands like SanDisk & Kingston which provide good speed memory cards.@TOOCOOLI completely agree to your point. Thats the reason i am not thinking about a lagfix or rooting as i dont want to mess with samsung warranty. Will wait for 2.2.1 build. Heard lag is further reduced compared to 2.2

samsung will never be able to fix this lag and RAM issue on the galaxy s... because it is not a *software* company.. even though specs wise the phone is good the quadrant benchmark scores are very low because of the touchwiz UI rom
mmm. in the end, they are partners of google and they do get tons of support from the actual android developers. and samsung is indeed in software business. they have their own bada platform. and i bet they have a decent sized team working on android too. in the end, each of their phone comes loaded with a customized android build loaded with touchwiz. it is for them to decide whether to ditch touchwiz totally and go for stock android builds.

but still samsung is more of TVs and cameras and other consumer goods... yes even the cellphones are good Corbys were a hit, so are the galaxys.....
they are not that much into software. they will have to drop BADA if they want to come out with more android phones
you do realize that televisions and cameras too have software powering them? proper operating systems?
they launched bada after android was launched and they were making android based devices. they probably have a good reason to work on it even though an alternative already exists.
also should add here. while google has launched their google tv just now, samsung has been selling their own internet televisions for a long time now:
and they have downloadable widgets that are technically software that access internet to fetch information. and these are hugely successful in south korea.
