Hi Guys,
Yesterday I gave reconnection to my cable and bought a SCV cable STB and i have degraded my self to family pack in TS.:thumbsup:

I got back my cable because i was not interested in paying Rs. 50 just to get sun channels. Where in from my cable i just pay Rs. 100 and i get 20 tamil channels and i get all the english news channels free including australia network in digital quality.

I got the SCV STB to get some channels which are missed out in super saver pack.

Over all cost for me now:
TS (Family Pack) - 250
Cable Rent - 100
CAS Channels(7 Channels
+50 FTA Digital Channels) - 50

OVer All Cost - 400:thumbsup:

I got it for 750.:thumbsup::yahoo:. I did not get the STB from my cable operator i got it from one of the sources and other cable operator. I dont think any cable operator is giving STB for Rs. 500 in chennai city. This 750 offer is going on for the past 2 days and its distributed only by very few local cable operators. If you are good enough get it by using your reputation with your local cable operator.

The channels which i am subscribing from CAS are B4umovies, Zee Music, HBO, Zee Studio, Star Movies, AXN, Animal Planet and Travel & Living. B4U Music and Australia network and other 50 FTA channels are coming by default in digital quality from the STB. The sources also said that rom Feb 4th SCV will provide 80 FTA channels in digital quality.

SCV STB is more cheaper than TATASKY. also we pay for what we watch. it is as simple as that. so, even if i subscribe for some 30 pay channels and 100 rs for fta channels, i ll giving my cable operator a monthly charge of 250 rs. which is a good deal.

but in TATASKY, though we are frm south india, and frm chennai, we have to subscribe to south value pack which also contains telegu, kannada, malyalam channels. my question is why should i want to watch those regional channels compulsorily ?

i am in two minds,

whether to go for it SCV offer or not.
becoz,

If I go for SCV stb, i ll pay for what I watch and pay about 200 to 225 pm, which ultimately suits my budget . but TS digicomp will become useless... 4000 rs will be a loss for me :wall:.

@asdfgfIf you are interested towards SCV STB, then go for it as the STB is very cheap with certain cable tv operators. What i suggest you is that you degrade youserlf to south starter pack and later some stage dont recharge your TS account and once in 3 months just recharge for a minimum amount. I got the STB because it was cheap and affordable. This might be useful for us if we are going to purchase another tv in our house and thats the reason i got it. As i had mentioned in my earlier post now i have degraded my self to family pack in TS and added some channels in CAS pay channels in my SCV STB. One thing i am happy about it is that i am able to see all the tamil music channels which are sun music, jaya music, isaiaruvi and SS music.

@ajuravi007,No way for me... i ll have to be with Tata Sky atleast for a couple of years to come. Then I can afford anything in the future :thumbsup:
