Hey

I got a new connection and the ISP provided me with XC220-G3v (very poor performance for 300mbps connection)
So what i'm trying to do is use this merely as a convertor kind of thing and perform all the tasks (DHCP, PPPoE, wireless etc.) on my Archer C6.

I've tried setting up Bridge mode on XC220-G3v and then creating PPPoE on archer with cloned MAC but it doesn't work
Even though the GPON is registered at all times....
But as soon as the same PPPoE is created on XC220-G3v it gets connected properly....

what am i missing?

cloning isn't effective sometimes , i am personally using archer C6 v3 when i am on my default firmware (TP-Link) normal username and password process is enough to get me connected .
Since i found tplinks frimware not so optimized and stable , i flashed with OPENWRT now the problem is even though my onu is receiving TX and RX signal but my router is not getting connected .
so the catch is you need to get the exact MAC address which is stored in your Isps data.. Since my mac adress on ips site has last digit altered
you might find it funny / illogical ,
jst ask your isp to tell you the exact mac address which is register on your connection / or put your XC220-G3v on bridge mode and ask isp to flush off you current mac address , once they flushed your current mac then go through your normal tplink C6 config process ....your c6 mac address get updated on your connection .... thats it

@kbhatt I'm using OneBroadband in Mumbai

@GR2 Nope, OneBroadband LCO provided me with XC220.... The guy i deal with is very humble and responds to my queries (it's been only one month tho)

@TheJutsuCaster Yeahhh i got your point TP-Link firmwares for some models are very buggy... (i'm on v3 too)... I'm entering the mac correctly...I copied it from my customer portal (OneBroadband customer login) and this mac works when entered into XC220 but not w archer c6....

Maybe we can DM and i can show you the configs on both the routers

Update : I managed to get it all working... The issue was XC220 was generating the same MAC (ends with C2) for Bridge as PPPoE and maybe that was interfering.

How the settings look like now :
GPON details are on XC220 as entered by ISP, nothing changed on this.
WAN Connection is bridge (Had to create two bridge first with a random VLAN since XC220 won't allow two bridges with Untag vlan and MAC id was messing up so first it allots C2 then C3 at end of MAC then had to delete bridge with C2 mac)

Archer C6 :
PPPoE with MAC id Cloned as with ISP (ending with C2)

DHCP and WiFi is managed by ArcherC6 since dual core CPU so performs better.
Even though I have a hidden WiFi with XC220 just in case i need to reconfigure any setting without using lan cable

The speeds are good, I'm on 300mbps plan and atleast on speedtest it touches 310-320 with servers nearby and 250mbps+ around middle east, china, japan

Ping times are same... (I wanna lower it further since that'll make the daily stuff feel faster)

Bufferbloat rating is B usually (can't help it)

I'm trying to get static IP with OneBroadband LCO guy is quoting 1750 for a year and there's no monthly payment option, I have to pay it all upfront.
