sify broadband sam servers

mine changed to 210.18.11.11.......but i am getting too slow speeds

is it autochanged by sify servers?and what if your bband.ini is read only?

BBand.ini is just a text file which is writable. The SAM server IP is fetched everytime you start the client from 202.144.65.70:8090 as an XML file. BBand.ini must be periodically updated from this information.By the way while writing this I am checking my BBand.ini and my SAM IP has been changed to, it's now 210.18.11.5. Was 202.144.58.38 just yesterday heh. And speed seems okay here.

Mine is changed to 210.18.11.6Speed is good, but connectivity of the linux client is as bad as before, I think thats a problem with 202.144.65.70 ...

yesterday my sam server was down ,so i tried all sam servers ips[in easysify] given in this page but none worked

it is so strange that Sify users have to keep an alternative internet connection as well with airtel i do not... am i in trouble or what!

My SAM server having an IP of 210.18.11.5 is located in Delhi itself http://www.whois.sc/210.18.11.5

Neotrace is probably reporting Sify's HQ address which is in Chennai to be the location of the IP since Sify owns the IP. But the IP is actually located in Delhi.

Anyway, getting the city where an IP is located is not very accurate because companies can register all their IPs in one city and IP look-up services use their own methods to give us an estimate of where the IP is located exactly which could be 50% - 80% accurate (--source

Just hear this, just now I checked where my own IP address is located and it says Calcutta, West Bengal even though I am in Delhi :-|.
