OK thanks @ susuhbh &members/phoenixankit/
changing password ! correct.
Update :1140 IP changed ! I never give it usually and blank it in screen shots also.
Now the condition to hack the modem is known.
You should know the IP address. . and access his modem userID in airtel or dataone etc.
Now because of the "server" thread starter was hacked ?
Para two :
What happens if you use Dialer/Wanminiport/"Bridged" mode. ? still the modem can be accessed with 192.168.1.1 admin password ( Beetel 220BX1).
Assuming "YES" how to get the telephone number ?
Para three :
@members/phoenixankit/ @sushubh
Please see this page ( asccess control ). If I disable telnet for both LAN and WAN
still you could access my modem ? ( Enable when I need it only !)
http://i6.tinypic.com/6ur7rd3.jpg
This can be another preventive step, apart from changing Modem access PW which we tend to forget !

UPDATE: 1155AM disabled telnet in LAN and WAN IP 122.164.56.66 now admin password.
please try and report.
Update : 1215PM I could use the telnet service. RUN cmd telnet
Whether remotely someone can access is to be confirmed again .
( I have disabled it in my modem access control page for both LAN and WAN )

You wont gain anything from disabling Telnet. I can see you've changed your modem password, and that's the best one can do! I dont think anyone can now access your modem WITHOUT knowing the password.Crats!

Yes, I use my PC as a server & anyone can know my IP address through the server. I already changed my router password & I'm in the process of changing my DSL password too.

I have the always on pppoE connection, how do I change it to a Dialer mode?
I use a Beetel 220BX.

No you cant. You need to open a port in the victim computer. How are you gonna hack him without knowing which port is open?
You use Telnet?

Hey I got it!!
Eebsee. Never give your IP online. NEVER.
I can prove it to u.
your number is 0444****285

I've replaced the numbers with * for privacy sake.

How did you do it, Ankit?

I use a Beetel 220BX.
Step 1 :Make a copy of all settings of your modem/router please.
Or use the back up option in the modem.
Step 2 :Now go to
Start/All programs/Accesspories/Communications/Internet connection Wizard.
follow instructions. If done properly a new link Wanminiport Dialer will appear in
:S Step 3 Start/Network/Broadband.
Also open your modem's page > Go to Wan page .
Select "Bridged " save and reboot.
I have already done that. Create a short cut to desktop.
Para two :
Now I am on "Dial Up". Still Your modem can be accessed & modem access Password can be changed if IP is known. ( only Airtel telephone number cannot be seen !).
You still run the risk with your server. which exposes your IP.

Para three :How did you do it, Ankit?
Telnet. Start run cmd telnet follow help guidelines. better not try if you are not confident.
.type o 122.XX.XX.XX ( my IP now !!) or yours.

A request : please delete the Full Quote of my post in Post 23. . continuity getting lost.

type http://192.168.1.1/main.html in address bar
then go to advanced setup->wan->then click on edit button and then click on brigded mode and then next ,next and save and reboot!!

if u r using winxp then open network places ans create a new connection using wizard : click on connect to internet-> click next->setup my connection manually->click next->connect using broadband connection that requires username password
then enter ur user name and password
done!!

Just some Port Scanning, and Telnet.

Just some Port Scanning, and Telnet.

Could you explain a bit in detail, please? PM me.:(

Thnaks esbebe, I'm gonna try the dialer thing now. Let see.

Esbebe, when I put in your IP, it asks me for a password. which password is that, the DSL one or the router one?

I tried connecting a few more IPs that belong to CS players playing right now & I could'nt connect to them, there was some "Port 23" error. What does that mean?

1.I gave my IP ( first time ) to demonstrate how your ID was "hacked ".
Even though the Dynamic IP changes better not to give it.
2.The idea is Change Modem access address from 192.168.1.1 to something else .
say 192 168.2.15 etc
3.AND/OR change the default password usually password or admin .
4. Use "Dialup" mode to avoid entering ID and password in modem WAN settings.
( in the case of Airtel User ID is the Telephone number !)
5. Use Access Control Page ( under maintenance ) in Beetel 220BX and disable telnet for LAN and WAN.
( not sure this will help. will test another day )
Para two : In your case this games "server" affair exposes you, giving your IP.
May be you may have to use a proxy server.
Para three : In case of Airtel your Phone number is divulged.
The hacker can change the password in the modem and prevent your access to Internet, and you will end up formatting your harddisk etc . Always contact Airtel CC for PW problems.

Para four : As Airtel user 1. UserID and Password to connect to Internet
2.for accessing the modem usual default ID admin or blank
password : admin or password or 1234 etc
Router - Popular Routers Information
3.For checking your usage telephone mobile bill in AirtelSelfcare web site
User Id and Password ( sent by email to you after you register )
4. for [email protected] another password .

@Problem_Guy

there is no big deal . No port scanning and all.. it is basic http :// your-Internet-IP in browser ! default username/password works for many !! In airtel, i had logged in to many accounts ! Getting into router is easy (most of them keep their device untouched) !!

@members/appus/it is basic http :// your-Internet-IP in browser
Right. In FireFox Browser
Just tried a random dynamic IP of Airtel. 122.164.XX.XXX in address bar.
accessed one syedxxxxxxx@ using beetel 220BX1 ! admin password !
NEW INFORMATION : Telephone number ID seems to have been discontinued by Airtel.
I am asking them to change my 044xxxxxxxx_tn @ airtelbroadband.in USER ID
quoting this thread .

Para two :
My query:What happens if you use Dialer/Wanminiport/"Bridged" mode. ? still the modem can be accessed with 192.168.1.1 admin password ( Beetel 220BX1
YES ! as detailed by @appus.No safety in using dialer mode..
But userID ( telephone number old users ?) and PW cannot be seen in modem page !! ( someone to confirm )

My suggestion2.The idea is Change Modem access address from 192.168.1.1 to something else .say 192 168.2.15 etc
does not help !
see

5. Use Access Control Page ( under maintenance ) in Beetel 220BX and disable telnet for LAN and WAN.
( not sure this will help. will test another day
Failed. Reason above.
