ah man. i am tired blogging about every insanity i face with standard chartered so i am posting the latest one here.

their online banking cards section is missing some major transactions.

this has been messing up with my head for days now because the bill is high and i cannot see any big transactions in the recent times.

checked the pdf statement and found the details.

also...

i had made a partial payment earlier this month. and they are not accounting that payment in the due payment for the current month.

this leads to more confusion. i was supposed to pay just half of what it showed because i had already paid half earlier this month.

standard chartered telephone support guy said that the numbers are generated only once a month and are not updated if you make payments!

here are my existing blog posts :(

Is this credit cards you are talking about? I haven't faced such an issue yet. The interface is pretty minimalistic but functional. All payments made online get reflected in 2 - 3 days at max. That's what I have been noticed.

i am not saying it is a common problem. but having incomplete statements visible in the backend shows how made their internal system is. their bank branch people are not capable of giving me statements for the last financial year. i was told that their systems get overloaded if they keep all the statements of all their customers. i was like WTF. what is cloud computing for? you do not really need to have them stored on your own bloody machines! he told me that to get statements older than 12 months, i would have to file a request and collect them after 3-4 working days. and they charge like 150-200 rupees per statement. he would send the request to the main processing center. and then get the statements for me. this is worse than government banks. even government banks are able to update your passbooks from years worth of data.

The only thing I approve about this Bank is their Titanium Credit Card, 5% Cashback on quite a host of Bills and Fuel Charges. Apart from that the people in the Bank perfectly fits the description 'rude' and 'unhelfpul' and 'unprofessional'. In one instance a person over the desk promptly looked away from my Dad when he approached him and told that he wishes to close the account and paid no attention to him whatsoever! It was maddening. :cursing:

heh. i have the same damn credit card. i got the credit card first. and then made the mistake of opening a savings account there as well. experience has been fine other than the fact that they provide access to online statements for only 3 months (tabular) and 12 months (in pdf format).
