yeah the money was added to the credit card amount in a matter of hours. the problem is that the online system still does not allow me to pay. have to rely on the mobile for that. would have to make another payment later this month. would try the online system again. hopefully they do not break the mobile functionality. :|

yeah online payment is down currently, just checked..should be up and working in a couple of days i guess..AFAIK, their scheduled maintenance/downtime is much less than banks like SBI Breeze is decent but considering our GPRS connectivity, i dont use it often, wi-fi is not available everywhere, besides open wifi systems are not good for conducting bank transactions even though they are encrypted.

if i am correct, it has been down for around 3-4 days already. that is not a very good thing. :| i mean people have credit card payments to make. and not everyone knows about the workaround. of course the stupid f**ks still do not offer more than 90 days of transactions through the online interface. and pdf downloads are only offered for the last 12 months. so much for an international bank.

i got the usual excuse. some work must be going on in the backend by their IT team.

Coming back to think about it, that doesn't makes sense, there is just one and only one backend and it has replica's, unless android app is accessing a replica database in which case the normal web interface also should, but no software writes to replicated databases, it's done only to primary database, and in the event of a failure of the primary it's the hardware which switches to secondary.

The only logical conclusion would be, there's nothing wrong with the database. they have messed up their web interface!

of course. the girl on the phone told me that she could process the payment at her end if i wanted to. so the system was indeed working. they just broke something on the web backend.

duh. i was talking about the scripts powering the web backend. :| connectivity with the primary database broken i assume. or whatever. sucks. thankfully i was able to make the payments in time. penalties and interest rates for credit card payment delays are baaaaad.

Well... There could be a database of the Web Frontend right , and that is what could be referred here.

Yep, I know what you mean, same thing happened to me during payment of my last to last month's Credit Card Bill of Axis Bank. I had used Bill Desk inbuilt to my Kotak Bank account, have stopped using that card completely now though.

Could be, but it's really surprising to find buggy codes deployed on live.
