Suggest a suitable wifi router

before going for a Cisco Linksys router, read this: Cisco locks customers out of their own routers, only lets them back in if they agree to being spied upon and monetized - Boing Boing

It should be noted that only a few models (maybe 3?) do this, and even then only after a firmware update.

I have just ordered "TP-Link TD-W8951ND 150 Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router" because my Airtel modem is giving trouble (frequent disconnections).
Airtel guy is saying that the modem has became weak; not sure what does that mean.

Will let you know the performance of this router/modem when it gets delivered.

I think I would be going for The TP-Link, its cheap and moreover comes with MAC Cloning, dont know whether the same is available with Netgear and Asus and its even DDWRT compatible

Most routers offer MAC cloning. It's not a major feature and in most cases isn't even required (getting your MAC binding reset is trivial, rendering the cloning completely unnecessary).If DD-WRT is a required feature and none of the other devices are compatible with it, go for the TP-Link, otherwise I personally wouldn't.

Don't buy Belkin. Period. For more info, use the search function.

Why not? The Basic N150 works fine for me. I've used the D-Link DSL-2730U and the range is terrible, I couldn't get a signal after 2 walls even though I get a pretty good signal from my Belkin and my old BSNL UTStarcom router.

Many people, me included, have had issues with Belkin. Neither do I suggest D-Link.

btw how is TP-Link Router overall and the Cisco Linksys router E900 is it among those CISCO Routers which behave in the way as pointed by chromaniac.
