I was thinking that only buying a wireless router and throwing away the GLB-502T would work......So I have to keep the shitty GLB-502T?...Please say no. IT SUCKS.:madness:

buffalo whr-G54S doesnt have adsl modem built in. i think he wants to get rid of GLB-502T,

well the title of his thread said "suggest me a GOOD ENOUGH wireless router" and thats the suggestion he got.

@siddesh if u buy buffalo it will cost u around 2200 bucks and u can convert the glb to bridge mode and then connect the buffalo to it..this way u'll bypass most of glb's problems

Thankyou cyberwiz for your suggestion. But I am want to buy a good enough router this time so I want like people voting for specific brands. So from now onwards vote for one out of this.ALSO I will to stay 24/7.So by looking at above problems/queries vote for one of these brands 1)Buffalo 2)Netgear 3)Link-sysVOTING STARTS NOW!.EDIT: Which routers do MTNL provide incase I decide to use their equipment?.

in order to remove further confusion, firstly tell us if you want only a wireless router (you'll have to use the present GLB-502T) or a wireless router with adsl modem (so you can use it in place of the GLB-502T).why dont you start a poll? anyways i vote for buffalo. Linksys would come in 2nd place and Netgear in last.

Srsly I have know knowledge about computers.I am just 13.Mom had buyed this comp for me.Now she got so much of office work that she can't manage with office computer and she said she goes for a new comp for me and she uses the old one.So I just want anyway I can connect to the net from both the computers simultaneously. But everyone mention GLB-502T sucks and has MANY firmware problems.(WHICH IS TRUE!).So I would like to leave the choice upon you guys whether I should buy a Wireless router or a wireless ADSL2+router.And srsly NEVER BUY GLB-502T.

Srsly even I don't have any issue with GLB-502T now.Rofl:hysterical:.I had some when I placed the router horizontally and now I placed it vertically its working fine!(Dunno why). And what other equipments along with a wireless router do you need to establish a connection to share connection between 2 computers ( NOT laptops)?.

My suggesstion would be go for Wirless ADSL Modem what MTNL will provide. I have BSNL's Type 4 modem and it works just great for me. I use both my WIfi laptops without any problem. Make sure you set the modem in PPPoE mode and not Bridge.

I stay in Mumbai (Mazgaon Exchange). I too am thinking of going for a wireless router.
Now ofcourse i want a single device, so i want to go for an adsl modem+wireless router (all-in-one).
But which ones will MTNL provide for my DSL 849 NU package? Is there a list of routers that MTNL provides?
Also what happens to my current DSL 502T modem and how much will then be the monthly rental for the router(which is currently Rs80)?
Finally, will i be able to setup a security lock on my router to prevent access to wifi devices outside my house?

I use both my WIfi laptops without any problem.

Does that mean u can use both ur laptops to connect to ur mtnl triband connection, at the same time?

Make sure you set the modem in PPPoE mode and not Bridge.

Now why u need to do that? I have been using bridge mode for quite a while now and dont like the "always on" idea wherein u dont control when the net is being used.
Also, since the wireless router is eventually going to be connected thru ethernet/usb (and not a wifi card or somethin similar) to the pc, why wud it matter which mode (bridged or pppoe) u use?

Thanx, in advance.

Wow!! Is there a wireless router available which can replace our ADSL modems as well. I am having constant problems with the ADSL going down and when it comes back the wireless router does not recognised it and I have to restart both the ADSL model as well as wireless and it start working again. Having to replace the ADSL model with a wireless router will be awesome. Please suggest. BTW: I am using a Linksys WRT300N.
