Recently there was no software upgarde except the one that was done for adding Tetris game.
Meanwhile I cannot agree with you that the picture and audio quality are bad.Quality of video for almost all the sun network channels in all south Indian languages are razor sharp with DVD quality.....and the malayalam channels from Asianet is very good...the FTV ABC and DW etc are also have excellent stereo quality in sound in addition to picture quality...in fact saturday world music awards in FTV was in excellent picture and stereo quallity...only Vijay TV is very bad in quality....
there was an update 2 days back and the new version is 217:010. I never said the picture and audio quality is bad, but there are not as good as a DVD or Digital cable in many channels(asianet also). Pay channels are better than other ones, but still not perfect as a original DVD. (could be due to my Dish/Setop box issues - not sure). I think the contrast should little more. Some channels are in Stereo, doesn't mean that the audio is perfect. You will not realise if you are using your own audio enhancers. You can makeout the difference in quality if you compare the sundth channel by same channel from DD DTH (for eg, add 9xm from DD manually and compare with sundth provided 9xm)

after the new software upgrade ,the sound missing suddenly error and STB hanging -both fixed(I Think so!
