synced @2048kbps .. gettin less than 256kbps... my friend told me this can happen, he had a similar situation 2 months back ..they do have some other speed control mechs seems

Today I'm too getting around 256 kbps (on youtube and limewire) even though I am synced at 2048 kbps. The bandwidth test provided by MTNL on their site gives me 1.9 mbps so it's only the speed till their gateway. Beyond that they have lowered the speed which connects me to the actual internet

I got my connection today and configured the router on my own GLB 502T..however im getting only 256/256 Kbps speed but i have 849 plan..The sync of 2048, does it have to be done by the MTNL guys from their side or i made some errors while configuing the router...ok i read more info in the forum ..looks like ..its even beyond the exchange..i will have to wake whole night and get the 1504 live help guys tonight :)

UPDATE:the speed problem on my line was sorted out by mtnl yesterday. i actually got a response to that email i sent them informing me that the problem is being looked into along with a cc of a mail sent to someone else stating only 'look into the problem'(with an attachment of my orignal mail!). since today morning my parents and i have attended atleast six calls from mtnl confirming that the problem has been fixed and that i am once again satisfied with their service.:)-yup i am satisfied alright (downed close to 4 gb yesterday night)

Congrats Nish-Lal.may you have a trouble free and smooth ride on the broadband highway !!The Babu that Fix'th thy speed, may one day also also Screw'th thy speed !!Hence God Speed
