ya , tats very ture.Imagine 100 mb is not enough for 2g network also , den how come for 3g network men.

Not sure if Docomo 2G is faster than Airtel, but it definitely is faster than VF in my area.

well the problem with that test was that...you cannot definitely put a pure statement like tata docomo 2g is faster than airtel 2g. wireless internet quality is going to differ from one second to another. one room in your house to another. if i sit under the airtel tower past midnight and compare the speeds to tata docomo 2g, i might get faster. the way it was highlighted on the web. and the direct sponsorship of tata docomo on their blog (at that time at least)... it would have been ripped apart in the west. but in india, it was like... wow, i am so getting tata docomo now.

guys i m frustrating with docomo , they even did not start their HSDPA internet and video calling too . i m trying since morning , nothing , i also went to their dive in store at Chandigarh , but that is locked , i wonder on the eve of diwali and on launch date that thing is not shubh

Why are you complaining about "only" 100MB?

First of all, it's a free offer.

Secondly, even if they charged ~Rs100 for this, I'd be fine with paying it for 2 reasons:

[*]Firstly, Vodafone India was charging me about 10ps/10kbytes = Rs10/MB = Rs1000 for 100MB (on prepay, yes, I'm aware I could get a better deal on postpaid),
[*]Secondly, in NZ the LOWEST cost provider gives 50MB for $6 (about Rs180-185) or 1GB for $20 (if you live in the right city, used outside of these areas is $0.50 or Rs17/MB), while Vodafone NZ gives 100MB for $10 (about Rs340).
[/list]
Personally, I'm using about 100-150MB a month at the moment (using sparingly, that is, exclusively on my phone): but that usage still includes things like Google & Nokia Maps, emails & attachments, some OTA updates, quite a lot of web browsing (including downloading some PDFs), Twitter, Facebook and a lot of minutes of calling on Fring and/or Nimbuzz.

Granted, 100MB is not enough to tether to your laptop and start downloading torrents, but 3G is not designed/optimized for this type of usage anyway - even the Scandinavian networks which are notoriously quite good are blocking/restricting this type of activity, and if 3G is to work properly in India, I would personally recommend that the Indian operators do the same.

Frankly, I think you're being bloody ungrateful. I have many friends and contacts working in the company and as many issues as I might have with Tata as an organization, I congratulate Tata and the team on launching DoCoMo's 3G network, however limited the coverage area may be for the time being. I can only hope it lives up to the DoCoMo name as I have been fortunate enough to experience DoCoMo's network in Japan on several occasions since it was launched there in 2001.

the biggest problem? none of the tweets or facebook posts mentions this.

if they had clearly mentioned that the free 7 day offer included just 100MB of data usage, it would have been all fine.

checked their facebook fan page.

either facebook is having a fit. or their social media team has deleted bulk of content between July and this month.

Moral of the story is think twice before you hastily jump on to the bandwagon of a new service provider who uses better PR tactics.By the way today I noticed better speeds from BSNL 3G.This may be a temporary and I may be wrong but could this be a Tata Docomo 3G effect ?

Tata Docomo 3G is promising 21.6 Mpbs speeds. Is any Tata Docomo 3G subscriber getting even 3 Mbps speeds ?
