Absolutely tremendous job done by the complainant ... Atleast he has the balls to go ahead and show those TTIB guys tht he will not take their bullshit ... Hats off to this guy ... How shameless TTIB is by offering him to disconnect his line instead of fixing the prob ... and 4500 they refunded only after they send them a CD ... A gr8 job mate .... Take these a$%holes to court and make them pay for each and every second u suffered ...

...We all know how these speedtests can vary between servers....
This gives the company a chance of evading the slow speed issue by using various reasons from it depends on the site , traffic at the server at the moment n all...

They shld have shown actual websites being browsed or even downloads from reliable http servers to highlight the poor connection...

There shld have been a more indept analysis of the whole situation....

They have a 3-5 minute capsule within which they have to fit in all the facts and fiction. Maybe they should have done a little more. But can't expect too much from them.

Regarding surfing speeds, speed tests etc., TRAI itself is at fault. It says every ISP should provide a method to verify speed. The ISPs provide one - within India. This, however does not consider the traffic jam (or deliberate throttling) at the international gateway. It is similar to specifying that a clear path should be provided from the flat to the society main gate, but does not say not clarifying on what the person should do if a wall is erected beyond the gate. Absolutely senseless stuff, this.

The only thing really verifiable is the downtime, which CNN-IBN seem to have done. Don't know what the next step in this case is.

That my point. A 5 min capsule isnt goin to hurt a big company like Tata Indicom. With such an approach it seems more like "Problems Answered" section as the back of automotive magazines.
They shld have put in more time.

Yup the downtime was present but they didnt mention what the cause was. They should have tried to find out the cause for the downtime that would really have hit Tata Indicom in the face.

Yes. I saw the program on CNN-IBN! Great job. Too help you... I might just switch off my Tata Indicom Broadband.

Why would you do that if you are getting good service from them.

I am going to do it in protest.

So whats the next step .......... the case seems closed here!

The 'case' is FAR from closed... it has only just begun.

'GSV13', you will understand that such details will never be disclosed by me because they would jeopardise the legal strategy being implemented. Do continue to watch the Forums, Blogs, Press, etc.

Besides, my doing whatever at my end, should surely not stop you or the others [that have following the unfolding story] from doing anything of their own accord in pursuing better service issues with ISPs. Right??
:)
