Tata Sky - Isko 'bhaga' daala to life jhingalaala

ok this point is not only for Tata Sky but with all DTHs ... now-a-day u have tv screens hanging from wall... they call it plasma tvs or LCD tvs ... where would you 'hang' your setupboxes?? for cable there is only one wire comes up. but what about STBs(hanging STBs??) and 3+ wires.... and tata sky+ has bigger STB... so where are DTH guys progressing in terms of upgrading technology or those tvs have some thing extra for STBs??
 
heh i hate the additional baggage of STBs. they are big and most of them do not even look good. and they result in wires hanging out in open.
 
I agree. STBs do look quiet ugly if you have a really cool flat screen HD TV hanging from your wall. But what is the solution then?
 
that wud add more complications to everything.... TV Sets and STBs are not handy things like mobile's Handsets and Sim cards that you can change anytime u want!And would that really make life 'jhingalaala'??
 
All TVs come with a tuner which is of course designed to be used with cables that connects to antennas. I believe Plasma screens do not come with tuners because they tend to add to the bulk and most connections overseas are powered through STBs. The thing is... as DTH/CAS/IPTV becomes more popular, we would see more TV sets in the market which does not come with the tuner for the cable. This would lower the cost and also enable the manufacturers to make thinner television sets. just like LCDs. they do not include a builtin tuner for television display. but they can be used for tv watching with a tuner card.
