Yes but billion dollar question will it really be implemented ?? You see how neo cricket , ten and even star show the L shaped ads inbetween every delivery and which is a money milking machine for them .. You think they will allow such a rule to be passed ??

Hopefully some miracle happens and the L shaped ads go away forever but chances are very remote ...
 
They are now in a better position to charge a load for that 12 minute / hour ad slot . Its just like us , who irrespective of petrol price wait in que to get our tanks filled. Advertisers also need to find slots no matter how much it cost.

But the no. of breaks - it should have been 2 ad breaks 30 minutes apart, but that was not the case.At the same time, SAB TV shows only 1 ad break of about 5 minutes in each of its programmes, even between 8-10 PM time slot.

Star Gold HD has become pathetic to watch .. Like you said they show adverts every 5 - 10 mins .. no fun left ..
 
and then they complain that ppl download shows online n watch !!! who the hell wants to spend 30 mins watching a 15min show with a 5min recap everytime?? does my time have no value?? and are ppl retarded that they need a recap of yesterdays episode?? in any case barely anything happens in 1 episode...even if u miss one u won't even realise it !!! :p
 
But thankfully, i have got something else to fall back upon, in spare time. D2h has added many new channels, and MTunes HD is one of them. Very very less breaks, superb audio & video quality, all good songs as well, no nonsensical gossips/PJs/Movie trailers to disturb in between. Just perfect channel that i was looking for. Thats despite the fact that they are FTA.According to the believers of the "High Cost of HD channels & high licensing costs of the songs", this channel is running a massive charity & are making astronomical losses i guess - by showing extremely less ads & not even charging a penny!This is called a money's worth channel - its a different fact that its FTA - but i would even pay up 30-40 per month for quality stuff like this!

what viewers ? many times its forced upon viewers depending on the demand of the programme. For eg : NEO sports pushing ads , right , left , top , bottom , center and even taking away the original content (game)... Or take for example the pop-up ads covering 60% of the screen in movie channels , entertainment channels . Sometimes the climax scene are cut to show one last ad slot before the movie ends , breaking the flow of the movie.

People are left with no option but to accept and take whatever is thrown at them. In many cases the movies are shown only to one particular channel and they use this to monetize every possible second of that programme.

Anyone from tamilnadu or anyone who watched RAJ TV or RAJ group TV will know that this piece of _____ has survived long even with thier crappy duration of ad slot and I dont remember anyone even seeing that TV , but it is still running. So market / clients will determine on how much ads should be shown based on thier reaction is pure non-sense.
 
These scumbags if i can call them that will not go down this easily .. imagine revenue loss for sports channel if they dont show the dirty L shaped ads ... in a 50 overs game 6 L shaped ads per over .. if we get a full 100 overs game then see the number of L shaped ads roughly 600 L shaped ads per game .. Some channels like neo at times show 2 L shaped ads in space of 1 ball .. so u think they will let trai implement this ?? these channels also have a battery of lawyers who will take out loopholes .. But yes its a very very good move and if implemented then finally viewers of India win .. btw if some of you may have noticed banner ads have already started appearing in HD .. star plus hd shows banner ads of clinic plus during jo jeeta wohi superstar and aamir khans show has airtel banner ads .. So these need to be removed else L shaped ads will very soon find its way in cricket telecast in HD as well ...
 
I remember Kaakha Kaakha (John Abraham's Force) running for 5.25 hrs.. (movie was 2.5 hrs) on Raj TV...
 
And not to forget the famous popping out of the field with sound effects ads shown on neo sports IIRC . Those were worst of all , its like watching some Michael bay movie. I still remember a movie on raj tv which ran for around 6 hours or so , this was their ad placementMovie(10 minutes) - Ad (20 minutes) - cycle continues.. Vijay TV also has taken advantage of its influx of viewers with horrible ad duration. These are some example , why i completely moved away from these shitty channels and resorted to Discovery HD / NG HD .. As i said earlier , this is great chance for broadcasters to charge how much ever they want for ad slots , big companies will eventually dish out. also , nothing has really changed. In fact , people will sit through 3 minute ad for every 15 minutes in case its a good programme. When was the last time we changed a channel while viewing a good movie. This makes that particular ad slot even more "Premium" imo .
