Does this APNA DTH DVB-S Card able to decode MPEG 4 signals also

Yeah it does. It supports MPEG4 but you need to have MPEG4 (or H.264) codecs installed. In fact any DVB-S card should decode MPEG-4 signals as long as you have the H.264 codecs are installed in your system. But beware a DVB-S card might not be sufficient to decode all MPEG4 signals. Channels using DVB-S2 (which uses modulation equal to or higher than 8PSK) will not work. For that you need to obtain a DVB-S2 pci card But not to worry all Indian channels are DVB-S only. so enjoy.

Thanks so much ........You are the man!!!!!!!
A very good guide and now to get the stuff, BTW what about the remote?
and does vista media center reads the Tata Sky info or program guide?
just some of many questions coming to my mind and if I get the stuff I will definitely ask more about it.

Remote usually comes with the DVB tunner card. Also it supports DVB EPG standard, show it will show all the info in the DVB client application that you would have got in TATA Sky STB. But you can do a lot more with EPGs. Like you can import and export EPG into xml, html, sync it with online EPG information services to get even more information

To tell you frankly, in terms of quality, both Tata Sky (Tata Sky sucks more) & BigTV compared to DD Direct, not because of the setup I have but because of the image resolution and audio quality. DD direct offers superior picture quality in terms of both Audio & Video, it is real DVD that is 720x576 where as TATA SKy churned upto 586 & BigTV upto 600.So not much of use. If you want the real quality try DD Direct thats free.

Are you planning to see Voom HD, because I dont see much of DVB-S2 these days in India. Also can you send me the ebay page link for the card.

WOW Thats what I can say on the amount of interest and knowledge this thread is generating in me atleast, Kudos to you people, I am tying to gather as much as I can by reading this thread on regular basis. Thanks
