the username is root. once you login as this user you can change the password for every other user. You can look at /etc/passwd file for the other usernames and reset it accordingly.
is it possible to reset the password of root? without knowing the current password?
yes, thats why you need to password protect your grub menu as well. But then you can boot from the cd or a usb, so now you need to password protect the BIOS. But then you can reset the BIOS password as well. Which is why the age old security protocol called the lock and key works best and you can throw in a few armed guards as well
