Upload Speed on BSNL Broadband

I have two problems with my BSNL upto 2 mbps connection.1) I am getting slow browsing speed since about 2 weeks. The download speed is ok (above 100 kB/s most of the time), but when I browse, the speed is dead slow. Previously it used to be lightning fast. I have tried OpenDNS also, but it improved the performance only marginally.2) When I upload to link-removed or FTP, my upload speed hardly crosses 20 kB/s. Also, when I test my speed on speakeasy.net or speedtest.net, the upload speed never goes past 130-140 kbps. But while seeding torrents, the upload speed is mostly above 45 kB/s. What could be the problem?

don't know the reasons, but that's what everyone's experience is till now, on 2 mbps...even i had the same experience when i was riding the 2 mbps wave...

But I am experiencing this only since 2 weeks and the 2 mbps service was started before the start of January. So I got good speeds for about 2 months. Its since these two weeks that I am facing problems.Though the problem no. 2 about upload speed is being faced by me since the beginning.

u're getting good upload speeds as far as torrents are concerned...they won't give u more than 512 kbps of upload in any case...regarding the downloads, no idea

I get good upload on torrents but on link-removed and FTP, the upload speed is half of that.

yeah obviously torrent speed will be more coz they involve multiple connections from ur computer maximising ur bandwidth.Single HTTP/FTP stream speed will be usually less..

the official speed ur supposed to get are..home 900256kbps download and 64kbps upload..home 250,500 and so on" upto " 2mpbs download and 512 kbps upload..

I get download speed 2mbps and upload speed only 128kbps..should not BSNL increase the upload speed.some people tell that BSNL download and upload speed ratio is 4:1..so i should get upload speed 512kbps.but i got only 128kbps.:wall:
