JayminIf u have computer it is not useless.Mithunit is HD DVR / SD? If HD DVR u can get 90 cm dish & insist engineers to get signal strength above 80%. db is most important I dont whats call we it. Stay around them when they installing antenna with their signal meter. Notice their meter screen & check when they complete installation. Signal need above 80% & db above 14% of each TP. About my dth installation engineer didnt cross signal strength of 80% but when I complaint for few matters their sr. engineer with him & he done well & my box get 82% - 87% signal strength. Just prefer signal strengths from engineer signal meter. Stb signal status on TV is fake.

^^^^Can u show me what use does the USB slot have?Btw, the quality shud be atleast 95%. But u shudnt leave them until they try their best to get 100%. Strength shud be around 90% atleast.

at begining they were offer it to use it as audio player but issue of virus they cancelled function & now we can just watch images through pendrive. & if talking about pc use. Use cable for easy connectivity between pc & usb things.

I not insist the sr. much because I heard same thing by both dish tv & d2h engineers that no any dth can gave above 80% signal strength so I not much insist him but after he told me he set dish for above 80% signal quality. But I leave the matter there instead of insist him for more. I think after pressurize him he ready to try more to get more strength but leave it.

And what will u do by connecting ur PC to DVR via USB?On the signal thing, 80% is way below par. U wud be getting disturbances quite often. If not now, then during rains u surely will face. U have a DVR, which has 90 cm dish. So without any doubts the reading shud be above 90.

not talking about connect stb to pc. Just use it for pc to usb device.I face few problems of pixelation few times. But dont worry in heavy rain channel will carry on properly because the dish gets above 15 db which is main factor of the issue. when it become 7 / less picture start to bad quality.

hi friends, i am from chennai. i am planning to get videocon D2H on january end, (hoping that D2h customer service and quality is good..) to connect with my 40+ inch FHD LED TV and Onkyo Home theater , which r also going to be purchased within january end.. so plz someone guide me which is the best option for me, whether to go with HD box or HD-DVR.. it seems, some of the members here are not satisfied with DVR.. so i am little bit confused here.. and what is that satellite DVD.. can i get demo of DVR anywhere in chennai? and presently i am having sun dth. so tell me how to surrender this........

No issues are there with DVR as such. The only issue that was there few months back, has also got rectified after they did some changes at their end.Satellite DVD is nothing but STB in which u can even insert CD/DVD to play......But if u want HD channels & also Recording facilities, then i think u shudnt even think of Satellite DVD. As for demo, i cant say anything, coz i dont know whether adequate no. of shops have demo of DVR or not.

From begining my dvr shows error 'technical error' message many times when I change to any channel & after a second it shows desired channel. It happens many times now I think to complaint about this to their cc and also I will demand dvr accessory box which was including HDMI cable (I got already after demand it to engineer), USB cable & batteries. Same happen with all of ur dvrs? If not I will complaint to cc for my dvr.Actually I think engineer left very short wire at pin of cable which we insert in backsite socket for named as lnb 1 & lnb 2. Its wire is short compare to dish tv's wire.Thanks.

The issue mentioned happens many times with me as well. But i dont think it gives us any troubles as such!I mean whats the matter if it shows u technical error for a split second before loading the channel?
