Videocon D2H HD DVR User Experience and Review

Today the technicians have replaced the set fully. They are going to evaluate the performance in the HDMI connection and take a call. As of now everything is fine except for the delay while changing the channels. There no flickering and the Audio is also smooth. They have checked it for an hour.

how is the audio wrt to the SD box and what have they told u abt the 5-6sec channel delay? will it get solved...

Yeah, this is the reason y i have stuck to D2h.

Agreed that normally problems shudnt occur. But the reality is, they do occur at times.....and these guys are active here. So they try to solve ur problems ASAP.

Airtel can use this to their favour - they have Airtel Presence. But dont understand why they arent handling it properly....

PS: I havent gone thru their section, but i have just read a few Sarcastic Thread titles of them.....

Yes!! Wud love to see all Services & all Players slowly taking Internet media seriously. When that happens, customer will just strengthen up further.

The D2H HD box is working well now. I hope something can be done related to the time delay as well.

i have few simple question for videocon d2h dvr only1. in our city there is frequent light cut. almost 4-5 hours daily. is there any way to record during this time... I mean to say can i get backup through their server or something like that2. if light connection is there but i am not in mood to watch tv. then for recording any program do i have to put ON my TV or only DVR to be put ON3. as far as i know there is recording facility of 200hrs. This is more than enough but can we expand this memory4. if i am out of station then is there any way to record program. i somewhere heard that AIRTEL or TATA has facility to record program through SMS. any such feature in videocon.Somebody Plz reply soon. as currently there is exchange offer and i want to take benefit of it

I am a very proud Tata Sky HD+ subscriber. But will help you with your queries pertaining to Videocon D2H.

No since this is DTH and not Google which backs up all your data in their servers, irrespective of electricity being present or not

Your TV can be switched off. STB needs to be switched on, to receive satellite signals for recording programs.

Not yet. None of the DTH service providers allow you to expand STB memory, atleast as of today.

Nope. At the moment you can only view their EPG using their mobile application, as per the info here:

one more thing i want to knowwhen VIDEOCON DVR was launched at that time i called CC and they informed that on DVR only HD package can be activated whose charges was somewhat above 300But yesterday when I called them, they informed that now basic package of 136+tax can also be activated on HD-DVR. but listening to his voice, i think he was not sure or confident. Does anybody activated NON HD package on HD-DVR ?

I had the same question in mind, to which Mr. Haris Bhat of Videocon D2H has replied in this same thread. According to him, we can activate non HD packs on HD-DVR.

today i contacted the person from whom i bought Settop box. I told him i want to exchange . he informed that pay the amount and take the new machine DVR and give us your old settop box. and go at your home and plugin the wires in the new DVR it will work.....But in earlier thread somebody has replied that a person comes from cpmpany and then he joins new wire and there will be one more wire.... and then that man will carry old machine....so i didnt purchased from him..... i contacted 2 place in nashik... but nobody has even knowledge that normal package will also work under DVR..... what to do..... purchase from that shopkeeper and give him my old box..... will i be able to install myself ? any idea ?
