@ xmen.....Ppl are saying that DVRs are in shortage. Dont understand the reason y. There was only 1 glitch in it - the Star HD channels was not in sync. Thats rectified as well now!
 
@Jaymin...Correct. I have been trying to get it in Chennai. two weeks gone by. DVR's not in stock is the standard reply I get. The shop keepers are actually asking me to choose Tata Sky+ HD, Sun DTH, DishTV..Airtel.. which they can immediately supply. They even called some number to check for the stock of DVR. Is there proper coverage and service of Videocon here in Chennai?? Any info on that?
 
a question. i press the record button on the remote and the display showed that i was not subscribed to DVR service. :|do i need to call customer care and ask them to activate it? (this is the first time i was trying to use the DVR functionality on the STB).

:ohmy: You have been using d2h for such long time and haven't used the DVR facility. Strange.

Anyways, You can email to [email protected] or tweet them with customer ID if you don't wish to call customer care.
 
Afternoon 3 engineer including 1 senior of them came to solve remain DVR problem. They told me its same with all DVR that after change channel it take little pause once after few seconds. I deny & told him that my friends tolds they never heard this type of problem when I mention this to them. After that sr. engineers

Confedence I stop to force him to clear DVR problem. He realign dish once when I shows him few channel quality. He also deny improve signal quality above 95% & IndianMascot I communicate in Great Marathi with him Great level so he improved it to 82% - 87% which he was deny for. Its Marathi's Power. But u didnt asn that you refer signal strength & quality from TV screen / engineer's satellite finder meter?

Today morning I also faced problem with DVR functions. Not working & I thought again it deactivate but when I re off & on it work properly later.
 
The strength referred here is as seen int he setup screen on your TV. Not sure what kind of meter he brought at your place. My engineer had a analog meter in which you cant accurately measure the strength. If in the setup screen, you get good quality/strength its fine.
 
He had brought 25 cm long satellite finding meter. Color white. & it has analog display type like black & white mobile screen. He showed me signal strength between 82 to 87 & PQ almost 100% & db above 15 of each transponder even tv was showing all around 100% signal strength when I checked a TP.
 
After now I buy a DVR I think I will just pass time for recording & I will not have time to watch recording content. But when there nothing interesting on TV that time I will watch recorded content.

Sony mix is my choice to record content bcose of good picture quality, sound quality & songs. After realign dish by engineer signal strength improved but I think sony mix picture quality gone down. Very bad :( its impossible but I think sony mix picture quality gone down.
 
The PQ of Mix obviously wont look that good, as its not in HD. But the channel is still decent, when u compare it to UTV Stars.@ Chromaniac....Hope ur issue has been solved! EIthre drop mail/contact them on FB, or just call up ur local engineer/area head, he does that for u. In my case, the engineer had given me the number of area head, and i called him up. Within few minutes it was done.
