may be yuvi was not supposed to hit 6 sixes?! hehe!i think he must be really injured. carrying bottle/bat is not that straining to elbow.

Vodafone is spending around 200 Crores on Brand introduction.:O

All Star TV channels will only play Vodafone ads from 9pm (20th Sept) to 9pm (21st Sept). Vodafone has bought Exclusive Advertisement rights for 24hrs from Vodafone.

I am pretty surprised to see only 2 ads playing of Vodafone. If they had planned for such exclusive ad rights, they should have made atleast 10 ads, maybe some public service messages (like hutch had for "Select Ringtones wisely" etc) or maybe some ads with Irfan.

The website shown in the ads www.vodafone.in is still not up.............Seems a hurried up launch, things are not in place as they should ideally be................Disappointed with the launch so far..... :(

heh. what a wastage of money...i would see if the local store in my market has been rebranded. too bad i just got a new connection last month. would not get the vodafone chip for another 5 months :D

According to me their marketing strategy is right. They first have to impress upon people that Hutch is now Vodafone. Only when that is done can they promote their VAS. Crowding too many messages within a short time frame might not be wise.

I agree its waste of Money as it may sound to many but they have to introduce themselves in a Big way as they are exchanging a Big brand Hutch. But I guess they should have come up with some very attractive plans with a catchy Tag line instead of such big budget on just plain intro............

how many people would know about vodafone anyways in india?in the end people would care about what vodafone brand has in store for them. at the moment, i have no idea what changes for me. except for the logo...of course people need to be told that hutch is now vodafone. but them hutch has already seen too many name changes already.orange, hutchison, essar, hutch. and now vodafone. anymore i might be missing?

It was never plain Essar, meanwhile Vodafone is here has a message " Our new website will be coming up shortly. To proceed to the current website, click here.

Still Vodafone India - Home Page is not showing Up...............Yes, people just remember what they are getting and not the name so much. Thats the reason I said they should have come up with some exclusive and competitive plans as part of their Intro/Launch.............

if i were vodafone.. i would't have cared to change the name... or spend 200crores on informing people about the change who wouldn't care anyway... instead i vud have used the money to introduce jaw dropping plans... then surely most would have noticed and happily shifted over and bought shiny new chips with vodafone printed on them (i m sooo smart:))EDit: shucks.. @imranais - u posted the same thing i did in so many fewer words)

The brand is everything. Ask Coca Cola. And 200 crores is small change for a company like Vodafone. The services will come. But the brand will come first.
