Weird connectivity issue on Airtel broadband - Need help

Hey Folks

I am stuck with a weird issue on my Airtel Broadband Fibernet connection… completely frustrating experience since last one month, so here is the issue.

From last one month or so I am facing issues with couple of apps like WhatsApp and Instagram.

• On WhatsApp, viewing images and viewing status stops working/downloading randomly, as soon as I switch to mobile network the same images and status downloads fine.
• On Instagram, Reels/videos stop playing with a buffering rotating circle, happens randomly and not for all the videos, same issue not present on mobile network.

Both the above issues happening on all mobile phones on home wireless network (all phones are iOS), WhatsApp on these same phones work fine on mobile network or outside Wifi network, also WhatsApp images and status work perfectly fine on Windows app or WhatsApp web.

My Network setup

Huawei ONT >> Asus Router on Bridged mode >> Asus 2nd Router on AP mode

Troubleshooting I have done so far.

• Reset Asus routers and did a fresh install (issue remains same)
• New Fiber wiring done from Airtel box on terrace to ONT (issue remains same)
• Disconnected both Asus routers and enabled Wlan on Huawei ONT & tested WhatsApp and Insta (issue remains same).
• Uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp and Insta on multiple phones (issue remains same)

This has been a very frustrating experience and completely stuck with the issue, pls suggest how do I troubleshoot this further?

Do you have a desktop or a Laptop. What does speed test on desktop/laptop report?
Also when WA images are not loading, at the same time if you check the speed test on that mobile, what are the results?
What if you change DNS on Asus router.
What if you check Instagram stuff on your laptop? How is the response?
Try changing Channel on Router for the given band
Try toggling WMM setting if available on router and check again.
Try setting DHCP reservation on router for all WiFi devices

I'm facing the same issue, I'm on static IP and using cloudflare DNS.
On PPPoE, everything's working just fine.

Will have to check if IPv4 only PPPoE is acting up as well, as I usually have both v4 and v6 enabled on PPPoE.

I have tried everything u have mentioned except reserving IPs to mobile devices

The speed is perfectly fine.. on the laptop also some insta videos dont respond, but for whatsapp web it works perfectly fine on Windows laptop

also sometimes playing 4K video on YT buffers..

Same issue here but with different apps for me.

• Snapchat, texts fail to send and filters don't load.
• Instagram, Messages take some time to deliver.
• Telegram gets stuck on connecting and never updates itselves.

My setup is - Nokia ONT -> TP-Link on WDS Bridge mode.

It means when I'm dialling PPPoE instead of using Static IP in my router, everything loads just fine.

ok are you using any other router on bridge mode on PPPoE dailing ?

what if I ask for Airtel to change my ONT ? its a very old Huawei ONT (6-7 years old)
