@raj2007The technology used is different. Kattuviriyan is connected to metro ethernet. You are connected to the conventional ADSL tech of Reliance.

huh...that explains my slow 1 mbps speed....so it seems nothing can be done..

Raj that is not true I am also on a ADSL line not on metro ethernet, there is some issue with your line or modem, taking your suggestion I have now migrated to the lower speed 600kbps plan and here are my speeds.

Also do note that even with a ADSL connection you can get speeds of 16 Mbps, I had an airtel ADSL connection on which I used to get 8 Mbps speeds.

Regarding the SNR ratio and stats for the Binatone ADSL modem on my reliance connection.

Raj could you also post your Attainable Rate that is the max that is supported on the line, do note that my data rate is set to 2 Mbps.

Raj I think so you should call up reliance support and ask them to increase the Data rate on your modem, please also list all the stats like I did so that we can determine the if the line supports the speed.

Also your SNR is a bit on the higher side, a low SNR is better.

Hmm looks like you are running a different firmware version on your ADSL modem, BTW just ask reliance support to increase your line data Rate that should hopefully help, but I am still a bit worried about the high SNR rate.
