I am planning to buy new device. Features can be less but no compromise in battery life. Which one will be better iPhone 5 or Galaxy s4? I have compared both devices with some sites, iPhone 5 has 8MP camera while S4 has 13MP. Front camera has also same thing. I don't really care but i want a good product, so i will not feel bad after buying it. Never used iOS but used Android before. Friends saying iOS has same features that Android has only we can't customise the home screen which doesn't matter for me. I can wait for iPhone 5S if its really worth.
I have seen the Galaxy S4 thread, where a member got damaged one and samsung not hearing him. So fearing to get that product for myself.

So give your suggestions guys.

hi iam using iPhone 5 since january, i was satisfied with my phone previously used 3gs. As both hardware n sw are from Apple only u will definitely feel the difference with android, even 3-4 yr old 3gs got software update(ios 6).Premium feel is definitely far from samsung
Pros of apple:
smooth
less software problems
wide no of apps(android too)
premium quality
size(some need big screens)
Cons:
less customisation(unless jailbreaked)
less features compared to S4
LTE not supported in india
If budget is not problem Wait till 5s release and go for apple

With all due respect, the (absurd) price the 5s will probably launch at will in no way be worth it. Brand loyalty will be the only factor here.
Simplicity is a given, but 60k for an endless row of grids, being tied down to iTunes and crippled in more ways than one is a little iffy to me, personally.
Less software issues? I beg to differ - http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-iphone-software-update-needs-more-than-new-looks-2013-5
And -

To each his own.
I have an iPhone 3G as well, by the way :P

Apple has consistent prices in India for their current generation phones. So the next iPhone is also likely to be priced in the same price structure. 45/50/55 for the three variants.

@sabir- went to nearest mobile shop today, checked all mobiles. he was pushing me to buy an windows phone but i was not interested. asked for canvas (latest one) and he knew i was an s3 user previosly, so told me things and config are same but because its indian brand quality will diff. infact he told micromax processor will take much time to load anything.. donno if it is true. btw s3 had no software issues and it was cracked by dropping from some hight.

lol. micromax does not make the processors that goes into their phones. they hardly make anything. almost all manufacturer source components from the same suppliers. so basically, i am assuming that his margins on micromax devices are lower than that on lumia devices. :)

that is what i thought too, he was suggesting me to buy an lumia or an htc device(if android) but i told him tomorrow i will confirm and buy. he was always telling micromax, lava, karbonn are indian companies thats why the product quality can't be so good like international ones. :P

@temp - If you have made up your mind on iPhone 5+ and if you are someone who doesnt want to waste too much money unnecessarily, go for highend micromax/karbonn or mid-range Sony/samsung/htc and yes even mid-range windows. Unless you really feel that you would need that small feature that you need to pay 10k on for what - 5-6 months of usage.

AFAIK, MediaTek isn't as good as like the likes of Qualcomm, nvidia, ti et al?
MediaTek processors are lower-binned chips that are pretty capable of holding their own, especially the quad-core MT6589. As far as price-performance goes, absolute value for money.
Benchmarks don't mean crap. My Xolo A700 is smoother (in operation) than my dad's Galaxy Grand and sister's S Duos.
Also, from what I hear, Xolo is en route to being the first Indian manufacturer to release an OTA JB update for some of their devices.

id say if youre getting the Galaxy s4 or the iPhone, better change your mind and go for the htc one which is almost the same price, and yeah htc one is considered to be the android iphone hardware wise as its the best of hardware available yet amongst the droids so just close your eyes and go for htc
EDIT: yeah theres no external sd for htc one but that hardly matters, 32 gb of space is likely to be enough or you have an option of choosing the 64gb version by paying extra buks
