Why airtel allowing banned Chinese routers ?

Hi,

I have a concern , few days back US has blacklisted companies like ZTE and others for any further network licencing ,even GOI had issued notification regarding ZTE in past but now what I see that airtel is offering ZTE/dragon head routers both Chinese ,shouldn't we as a customers be concerned about our data security ? what is your view regarding it ? why GOI has no eye over it ? I feel JiO fiber has their own ONT manufactured which I found better comparing to airtel ? isn't it?

By that logic, the phone/computer/laptop you have used to type this msg is also Chinese in some way or the other. No qualms whatsoever about it??
And NO!! India does not have any Data Protection Law to care about your personal data from a legal perspective. You should raise this issue with the govt. Or get hold of a good VPN.

You found Jio's router better? How exactly did you "find it"? It felt good? It worked great?
Open the Jio router and see where it was manufactured. Also ask Jio to see if you can bridge their internet connection, or use your own private DNS, and see the reaction.

I feel you couldn't get my point , its not about made in china rather its about a Chinese company , I hope that you know that every Chinese company working in china is bound to share data with Chinese government , but this rule is not applicable to other companies manufacturing in china . that are two different cases .

Indian government can access any citizens data as par the rules or requirements but certainly you wouldn't like that a foreign government start checking your data without your consent ,isn't it?

@pillaicha I hope cleared my point in my response to Tejas but again clarifying ,as par as my knowledge then jio has created its ont through its own subsidiary so it doesn't matter even if it is made in china if the owner company is not Chinese

owner company is not Chinese

It's Chinese.

Jio has taken a Chinese board, with Chinese engineers customising the Jio logo in the router’s Software and then Jio got a plastic case with Jio logo made in China and put it all together (assembly) IN CHINA! Just because an Indian subsidiary imports it, that makes it okay?
