We already have three DTH providers in India Dish TV, Tata Sky and Sun DTH are in the market.Atleast two more providers are ready to step into market including Bharti and Reliance. More than couple of DTH applications are pending for approval Most other countries have got only one or two DTH providers. Why do we need more than two players?. The packages and services these people provide are more or less same.

the more the number of DTH providers... we the consumers have a bigger choice. If there are only 1 or 2... we will have to satisfied by what that one/two provider(s) give. Remember the good old days when there was only MTNL and the kind of service and prices we used to get. Now with so many telecom companies, we benefit from their competition....Competition is always required for the economy!
There are so many So dth providers coming in Indian market beacuse indian market is very big for One or two dth providers and all of them will see great oppertunity in this field to step up....because as of now there are more then 70 million cable homes in india...and expending so this market is quite big and offer a lot more oppertunity.

Competition and sensible laws are the two most important requirements of a free market. Heavy competition in the DTH space is in the consumer's interest. If only the same thing could be said about Indian laws....

That's right gregory house. I agree with him when it comes to Sensible Laws. And moreover, approaching Govt. for each and every single deal the DTH operators make, few things are better left to be decided by the private players themselves.
Instead of regulating stupid issues and wasting time and money for the Broadcasters or for DTH operators, the Govt. could relax some laws like Adult content on DTH. Not many of us want that. Why??? Just because its the only source of Porn in the whole world?????
If youngsters wanted porn they get CDs', DVDs' and Internet is a whole dump of porn. The actual fact is that we do not want to get caught by our parents/family while we're hallucinating.... 
Lets all grow up.
