I doubt Motorola sale had any clause that stops Lenovo from using Motorola to make Windows Phone devices.

I doubt that Motorola wud use WP, they wud instead use Lenovo phones for dis. Just a 'BRAND' factor.

Ex-Microsoftie Nawzil has claimed on twitter that Windows phone 8.1 will support USB Mass Storage devices, and will be able to manipulate the files on the device using a File Manager.
...
In theory a full USB OTG implementation would support cameras, USB Flash Drives, Mice and Keyboards, but I suspect we should not raise our hopes too high.

Nice feature I guess. I had seen colleague had Nokia C6 (or some Nokia Belle based phone) which supported this feature. He could connect USB pen drive to phone via USB micro-cable, and copy files from Pen drive to phone.

Windows Phone does not even have any sort of File Manager as of now
But I guess they would have some File Manager in later updates, so perhaps they could support removal media via USB.
