Hi everyone,
I'm trying to look for a broadband connection in my area( Bengal Ambuja, Santoshpur area, Pin - 700075).
I've tried every source and since this is a housing complex from the stone age I can't install any cable internet.
My needs are :
-Constant speed 24x7(2Mbps is minimum)
-Unlimited usage and no FUP at all
-Reasonable monthly charges
BSNL and Airtel don't have what I'm looking for and even their unlimited plans are lacking in everyplace from reliability to speed(they bump the speed down to horrendous rates).
Could someone please suggest me something good? I don't have time since I have to go to work on weekdays and checking on the internet seems to be my only option.
I look forward to your replies.

Constant 24x7 (2 mbps minimum) unlimited connection that too without FUP within reasonable price is a distant dream for 99% of this country and will stay so for a very long time. Most of us netizens who doesn't belong to cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore or Mumbai don't even have any option in any form wired, wireless, cable or anything else for a decent connection.
Still May be someone from your area might be able to pitch in with a decent suggestion.

I was afraid of that. :nonchalance:
But anyways I'm going for Airtel since I've used their service in Bangalore but it was decent and they have a plan with an 80Gb FUP at 4Mbps. It's expensive but since I save so much every month it's fine with me. It might be a good time to cut down on smoking.

Contrary to popular belief that FUP free decent broadband connection at reasonable rate is hardly possible in India, such a connection is quite within your reach if you happen to be residing in Kolkata, at least in many areas in Kolkata. I live in Kolkata sub-urban area, at least 20Km away from central kolkata, and yet I get FUP free unlimited 3Mbps international bandwidth at 2500/- p.m. with a 10Mbps night connection (from 1 am to 9 am). I shifted from BSNL to Alliance broadband about 2 years ago and I am as happy as anything. The connection is quite stable, technician comes to the subscriber's house to solve any net related problem if there is one that needs attention. Downtime has never been more than 24 hours. There are more than one such ISP in Kolkata.
I suggest that you check-out the following websites:

Alliance was my first option. All my friends were telling me of the speeds and reliability as well as the rates which were good. But unfortunately Alliance requires a cable connection which is not possible in my area(wired lines only). So no issues I'm only going to use it for a few months and then I might shift to another place. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
