they definitely got the regulations changed to get volte and vilte allowed in india.
and i think they also got the regulations changed to get vowifi enabled in india.
I guess their reasoning would be that these are completely diff technologies. These benefit us anyways so no harm , and not counting data for Jio services will make sense too, I just hope they don't inc netflix and other services under them as if they do that then there won't be anyone stopping them to crush the rules of net neutrality all together.

I am sort of little bit of puzzled as to the hate which Jio Fiber and its plans are receiving here!

Please let me know which other company offers fiber to home at this rates? I would like to compare plans really. And please dont bring shitty cable walas providing LAN connections as an alternative just bcoz they offer "Unlimited"

It is experience which matters in the long run which at least Jio is providing well. A high capacity IPTV platform on fiber, recording tv, landline, video calling, integration of cameras, other stuff etc all on a single wire......which other operator is proving all this???.

Most of the Indians will be happy with 150GB on the lowest tier which is more than enough. A nation in which a single 4G connection/person uses 10-15GB a month cannot used 150GB even if he wants too....& please don't have fantasies of absurd monthly rates with unlimted GB's, nobody is doing charity here.

Remember 5th sep 2016..the day when jio launched telecom service commercially? Their introductory plan was 149 which gave 2 gb data per month.that they they also extended free service till 31st dec 2016..and on 1st jan, they introduced jio happy new year plan and in that they started giving 1gb/day in 149 plan..i guess todays tariff anouncement is just in order to make the competitors increase their own tariff.and then suddenly jio will make new plan update..this is what i assume..

2) STB with over 600 channels + OTT Apps.
Hi, thank you for such an informative post.

Are all channels that are available on Tata Sky also available on Jio?

Do they have extra charges for additional TV?

Also, how much are you paying per month? I'm interested only because of the TV and phone while using Jio as a back up broadband connection. Any help would be appreciated!

Most most people ready to pay to local players 600 bucks with unlimited data with few downtime.
Rather then paying 1500 to Jio

Jio absolutely deserve the hate they are getting.

After todays turn of events today how unprofessionally jio launched their plans without any clarification just leak to media I would say local cable wallah are more sincere and professional than jio.

BSNL, Airtel, Act and many other provide better FTTH plans. Jio is no where even close to airtel in customer service.

experience really? Jio doesn't have a good reputation for providing quality service they are know for providing cheap service. There is no iptv announced yet.

If you consider using existing DTH service which provide recording and stuff, including ACT has iptv inconvenient then its subjective.

Security cameras - you still have to connect it like you would any other market camera. Honestly with jios control over everything remotely its a security risk. Their customer data was leaked if you remember with all personal details.

Video calling ? Idk

when I had 512 kbps internt my usage was 5 gb, then I got 2 mbps with 5 gb fup my consumption increased to 7 gb, then I got 50 Mbps unlimited my usage increased 500+ gb.
Average 4G consumption is definitely more than 15 gb most people hit their daily 1gb fup limit who rely only on mobile for internet. And before jio it was 1-2gb per month.
So your assumption that a person with 100 mbps would still consume only 15 gb is wrong. And its utterly stupid to provide a FUP of 100 gb on 100 mbps connection.

P.S. This has become a long post and I am sleepy its 1:12 am so I will fix any mistake later

for 100 mbps only speed test would consume like 500-700 mb.

Guys, contrary to all the negative feedback, I actually liked their plan since it gives me :

1) Good internet speed for doing basic stuff (steaming 1 or 2 movies / week , system updates, routine office work etc ) and 200 gb is more than enough for this.

2) STB with over 600 channels + OTT Apps.

3) landline.

If I had to pay for these separately , it would have crossed 1300 +.

I have been using jiofiber since 2017.

There would be many households like mine whose demands will be mediocre in terms of data and these plans may actually suit them.

I know most of you already have broadband connections from LCO who offer much more data at a cheaper rate , and hence comparing jiofiber with your existing provider is right on your part. But for someone who’s going in for jiofiber for the first time , these bouquet of services will make sense.

I have applied for the silver plan. Let’s see how it rolls out.

tv channel price is not included in plans. OTT apps details are not available too.

Data consumption would only increase, even my mom don't like to watch live tv with all ads and fixed timing, when its more convenient to watch the same saas bahu stuff without ads using apps anytime you want.
