MAJOR UPDATE: Plans are being updated on remaining circles too, but are marked about being available only in selected districts !
Even Jammu&Kashmir got the plans without any SSA restrictions I wonder what type of isp competition are there. While at Kerala and Karnataka the plans available on limited SSAs

Maybe because of bandwidth issues, There are huge number of BSNL customers in southern states.

A single state uses more bandwidth than the rest of India combined? Remember some districts did get the new plans. It's not bandwidth, it's gross incompetence. That old email was a textbook definition of monopolistic behaviour. BSNL is no where near bandwidth limited.

Well I guess that's it, hyped for nothing and we're left with no other options as well.

In J&K, due to 4g speeds restricted upto 0.5Mbps & earlier ban on mobile internet for few months, everyone has started taking broadband connections. In Jammu & Srinagar atleast Jiofibre /airtel fibre /netplus are available and given that everyone is taking new connections due to COVID scenario they don’t want to loose out customers . I paid 6k for Bsnl (wire+deposit) ftth 4months back and now airtel fibre is available in front of my house and they are charging no additional costs if i pay for 6months in advance. Anyways there is no benefit in higher plans if you face packet loss/ fluctuating speeds /higher pings. Trust me i have used 5Mbps internet with local service provider in Mumbai with constant pings as low as 2 ms while as on Bsnl ftth even 50Mbps speed is frustrating, not sure how long will they continue in cities with direct competition vs airtel/jio.

Is the new plans available in Kannur District (Kerala)?
I am going to get a new connection this week
Would disastrous if these plans are not available here.

The new plans have indication that it is till 29 December, what does that mean? They'll move you to low data plans automatically next year?
