i have a feeling either the plans above will have "upto" attached to them, or topweb is actually lnsb/mrinal/hotindia who has a habit of starting "good news" rumours, then disappointing, then advertising that alliance kolkata service! lolz...

but im just being skeptical/paranoid, i really hope they launch the above mentioned plans, even if they all have "upto" in the speeds. i will take either the 1 mbps UL or the 8 mbps/20 gb plans, they rock, theoretically speaking!

and ya, i too hope BSNL kicks some serious private isp's (airtel's) backside with some good plans!
ya,i do hope that this is for real.i feel that even now bsnl has much better plans than airtel.my friend had airtel and believe me AIRTEL REALLY SUCKS!!!

this can a counter of Airtel 8mbps plan this can happen Bsnl on big move guysplanning of 256kbps free in 2009there is no need to surprise with this kind of plans

what does "unlimited with NU" mean? :P

Rs. 900 512Kbps unlimited (Rs. 1100 with NU 1MBPS option)

Means you pay Rs. 900 for a 512Kbps connection 24 hours a day.

You pay 1100 for 512Kbps during the day and 1Mbps speed during the night. Which means double speed during off-peak hours.

It is similar to Airtel 999 home+ unlimited connection in Delhi. I used get 256Kbps during the day and 512Kbps after 10:30PM on that connection.

Was that too difficult to understand?

And for all those who don't believe the impending announcement, it is not my fault. It is BSNL's fault as they have worked really hard for their image of incompetence and corruption and what not.

Afterall MTNL is known as Maha-chor Telephone Nigam Ltd. in Delhi for a good reason.

Well either you reliable source is fooling you or this is just another troll . 2mbps at Rs.1800 is total BS atleast till next year or so .
You mean next decade or so
BSNL is not in a position to provide even 'up to 2Mbps' bandwidth for unlimited connections (or limited ones for that matter). Sure they might give you a 2Mbps connection to their network (and maybe even within India) but where will they get all the extra international bandwidth.

you're a bit dense, aren't you? didnt you see the smiley next to my comment? anyways, i just hope you're first post comes true, thats all...

You mean free unlimited 256kbps? Why would they do that and shoot themselves in the foot financially?
If there is a free broadband plan there will be a catch, in the form of an even more ridiculous data cap (probably 0MB and you pay per MB).
Even if by some chance these 1/2 Mbps unlimited plans are launched in January 2008 they will simply bring BSNL's network to its knees and these forums will be full of 'my speeds are slow' threads.

last year around same time rumors came about 2 mbps and everybody jumped to discuss like this time everyone is doing. the rest is history. this time also bsnl people will do the same. i have been using dataone since last 2 years and i have never experienced problems. it rocks ...
