so you believe airtel/vodafone/reliance would rent their spectrum to other players for cheap in delhi and mumbai?
i do not see them do so. the prices are already going to be sky high for local services.
of they wouldn't do it cheap, they would try as much to clear the money hole in their pockets created by this auction.
but it depends whether the other company has subscribers there which it would like to provide it too.
it is the same as roaming that when our subscribers go in your area, you provide them with service and we will pay you not that lose customers just because you can't provide the service.
and how would you like if you got 3G card in DELHI,you had to go to Bangalore for some reason and you didn't have the service there, the operators will license services from each other
also do you believe that a big name like TATA,idea would just leave their customers in DELHI and mumbai AND other high subscribed places

i guess mobile operators would not push for 4G for a couple of years now. i think europe auctioned 3G spectrum back in 2000. it took 10 years for india to catch up.
there is no incentive for any player to buy 4G spectrum for at least half a decade.
india was also in a poor situation in 2000
this time it will take lesser time for india to have 4g auction than the gap for 3g vs other countries.
once you get to a stage then growth happens fast like from 128kbps to 256kbps but when you get to 16mbps then you go straight to 32mbps
