same thing happened to me when i got my connection long back.. lineman came and gave modem,didnt do anything cause i already had telephone line to my pc..and they charged 500rs or 250rs dont remember...

and i think upload speed will be 512 kbps as 256UL subscribers get 256 kbps upload speed.

I was just about to write to you that the upload is 56 kbps but when I checked it right now I am getting around 21 kbps at link-removed. When did BSNL increase the upload speed ? amazing ..

sorry , forgot to mark the date in calender with red ink thinking you may ask one day.Anyway clear your funda first about the difference between kBps and kbps ! OK ?

What man ! Why do you do that !What I mean is that the last time I tried uploading at RS, it was giving me a transfer rate of just 6 KB/Sec. And today it was about 4 times faster. So, I am pleasantly surprised. Of course, I would love to buy you a calender since you don't seem to have any.

My OS has an in-built calender .anyway , neither 56/8 = 6 nor 21/8 = 6 !
