Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam slams glitches in Aadhaar, says over 21 lakh people not getting ration

Over 21 lakh eligible persons in the city are not getting food grains and other products sold at Fair Price Shops as their ration cards are not linked to Aadhaar or there are some glitches in the linking, Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam claimed on Thursday.

The requirement to link ration cards with Aadhaar should be suspended until the Supreme Court gives its verdict on the Constitutional validity of Aadhaar, Nirupam demanded.

Students miss exam for not having Aadhaar

Students said their Aadhaar cards had already been scanned at the time of filing the online applications for the exam. “The Aadhaar number was mentioned on the hall ticket and students were expected to carry the original Aadhaar card or a copy with them. However, the hall ticket also mentioned that any valid photoidentity proof could be produced. Still, the officials demanded only Aadhaar cards,” a student said.

^ there IS no concept of original adhaar card. you can go to adhaar website to download the pdf of your card I think

lol yeah. the whole concept of original aadhaar card is pure harassment. you can photoshop your details on a template and it would be accepted at any location that does not do biometric authentication or insert number in some app to verify details. and that app is probably in violation of aadhaar act because they tend to show complete details of aadhaar card to the user of the app. someone tweeted about this related to Paytm kyc. a person went to a paytm kyc partner shop. shop owner entered his aadhaar number on some portal that paytm might have provided him. and the portal showed all details of his aadhaar card to the shop owner. so someone like him could basically enter random numbers and get all details related to that number!

fuck. when we used to give phone numbers to shop wallas to recharge, many people misused them. imagine what the state of adhaar card details would be

yup. we are living in times when societies ask for aadhaar number when you enter as a guest to meet someone. virtual id should have existed from day one and used instead of aadhaar number. aadhaar card should never have left the home or even printed. people should just have issued a virtual id when they needed it to prove their identity. but not even a developed country can have a system in place that works 24x7, 365 days a year based on on-the-spot authentication over internet.

even colleges too. they ask for adhaar before entry. I just type in some random numbers
