anyhow. looks like i would be MNPing away from airtel to vodafone or reliance (OMG).
Wow, Airtel fanboys thinking about moving to Reliance
Seriously, if you have proper signal in your home/office, you will not regret. I frequently use Reliance GSM for ISD calls to US and voice quality is best among all networks with almost no lag. So, that is other benefit. I use
Nokia N95, so quality of handset may be helping too.
Vodafone will also launch at prices similar to Airtel. Vodafone is typically costliest in the market. So Reliance or BSNL/MTNL is the only viable choice for now.
Airtel will always provide better 3G service than BSNL because hardly anyone in right state of mind will like to use it for large downloads. So there will be no network congestion. :cool2:

@dhananjayk - I am getting 3mbps with two bars!!! That is still fantastic compared to BSNL. Its double their speed with same signal strength.
Wait till you get hit by the bill. You do realize that you are paying like Rs 10 for each speedtest? :O
