Airtel Broadband double speed but With Reduced fair usage policy

There will be NO 6gb fair usage limit once the speed doubles .. Everything will remain same just the speed will be doubled .. We still have 100gb before speed reduces to half.. have confirmed it with CC twice now ..
well I hope so when I was on swift 1099 plan I told cc ppl I want to change it to a lower plan where 256 KBPS plan has been doubled to 512 KBPS plan they said after 6GB ur speed will go bak to old speed of 256 KBPS. One week later also same thing.....nd since 1099 was still not being upgraded I ended up changing to 1MBPS. Asked thm whether it would be for other speed doubles too they said it could be possible. (1 to 2 week bak this was the reply)
btw I treid to ask abt their impatience plan initially they said they can offer nd got confirmation call from them too. I called up next day they tell me sir we cant provide as this speed is not feasible in ur area nd guess wht mtnl is already providing 4MBPS nicely here my frnd in neighborhood shifted to thm becz of no FUP. He got the connection in just 3 days.

ah well every customer care guy seems to have a different answer for the people calling in.
airtel sucks for not making everything clear. their initial press release had nothing about FUP.

ur talking about the plans which are not upgraded yet nd we are talking about plans like 256 to 512 which have been upgraded nd FUP has been reduced on them as told by CC. One of the guy even posted in the thread that he moved to MTNL becz of this.....

I use a 1mbps connection and the Fair Usage Policy is definitely 100GB, after which the speed reduces to half. This has happened twice now. Besides the airtel website that clearly shows the Fair Usage Policy limit at 100GB for 1mbps, the airtel online billing page shows your usage absolutely clearly until that point of time. The first time my Fair Usage Policy crossed this limit and the speed went half, I had called the Ccare and was asked to double check from Airtel billing site, where I could clearly see it having crossed 100GB. Get your login & password for the website, you can request for it online. This is way better and sure way of confirming info and the correct usage than calling the Ccare and waste a good 15 minutes of your lifespan!
