Guys read this, I think this article will prove that NO Private ISP thinks about the customers, they are indulge in making crap policies that too by sitting together and the Association is COAI. Tata telecome making some serious allegation on others quit from their. Here is the link
Angry Tata quits COAI, points at Airtel...

The COAI is for cellular operators, whose operations are handled for all 3 of the big players by separate companies/subsidiaries (albeit with the same names) than their ISP namesakes. If Tata discontinued membership in the ISPAI, that would be relevent.

It is ironic though - one would expect that Tata would be one of the "older players".

Article is fine as far as it talks about the drop in quality of services by Airtel but I can not agree with the reason that Airtel had done some international deals and high bids for 3g. This is just an eye wash and stupid reasons to fool customers.

I was finally hit with the FUP today... but am not downloading much now so not so much of a worry, but what has been happening ever since is what is irritating me to the core: The router is rebooting spontaneously, sometimes 2-3 times continuously, :@ at other times it works for a few hours... and when it does establish the connection finally and i try to open any page, i can see the text, "if you are not redirected click here (with some link); but clicking it goes nowhere, and i can see the line 'connecting to 122.160.230.125' in the ff statusbar. Waiting for it goes nowhere, and i have to refresh the page sometimes 15 times to get to the original page that i had to go to. :@ The adsl stats are all normal, there is no disturbance in the phoneline and the rebooting is not related to the landline like incoming call or whatever... **this started happening today after i was limited to 256kbps. Day before yesterday a page was popping up when i wanted to go to any site saying something like "you are being redirected to a warning page.." or some shit like that on airtel's website..** Just pissing me off! And i don't wanna waste my time with the dumb cc cause its probably way too complicated for them to understand... What the hell is going on??:( Some help please....Thanks.

I have not been FUPed but the link did get dropped a few times today. All I did was change to PPPoE mode and it is stable now(was using bridge).

goodburn, am already using pppoe mode... its behaving a bit better today. no reboots, but did hang on that redirect page a couple of times. so i guess the problem is with many.

just wanted to know for my information

DOES Fair Usage Policy APPLY FOR THE MONTH BASIS OR THE ENTIRE PLAN PERIOD

FOR EG - SUPPOSE ONE HAS 512 KBPS UNLTD PLAN WITH Fair Usage Policy OF 20GB SO WILL 20GB APPLY FOR MONTHLY BASIS OR ENTIRE PLAN PERIOD

PLEASE EXPLAIN

your speed will be restored in next billing cycle. For eg in this month you crossed your FUP limlt then you will get downgraded speed for remaining billing cycle but when next month starts your speed will be restored
