Till yesterday i was on pay as u go plan i.e. 5.74Rs per day planToday I switched to 3 month advance rental.Reasons:1) I had more 500Rs as balance and I didnt want to take risk of Airtel activating top-ups on its own!2) I get 10days extra
 
I am on 12 months advance rental plan ultra pack ...earlier they refused to upgrade to new ultra pack but now they have started to do so...now i have loads of channels :D
 
So they cheated me today again!

Someone from their sales department called me. (without me contacting them for any offers EVER in last 2 years or so)

He tells me that they will give me Hitz movie pack for 9 months for FREE and after 9 months they will charge 2Rs per day.

So I said - "ok if there is no charge for 9 months then activate it"

So far so good.

Suddenly after 4-5 hours I got SMS that 299Rs has been deducted!

Clearly completely misleading information given (even after me being very specific that activate only if no charge)

I had to rush to call to get plan deactivated. So the CC guy said - "ok plan is cancelled." (got immediate SMS too)

But wait, its not the end! He did not say that 299Rs will be refunded.

So I asked him - "is money refunded?"

He said - "sir money is already deducted because plan was activated!"

NON-SENSE!

So I had to speak in bit of stern voice! - "u activate the plan by giving misleading information and then now u dont want to refund money?"

So he said - "ok i will apply for refund - but it will be refunded only after verification with sales guy!!"

AGAIN NON-SENSE!

So I said - "what if sales guy will lie that i agreed to pay!"

So he gave usual reply - "that is the process and i will get a call from them"


Anyway so after about an hour I got a call from some other guy.

He asks me to give my DTH subscriber number!!!

I wonder why he wanted number when he already knew subscriber number and he had called on my "registered phone number"

Weird, so I told him - "I dont have number by heart - I am outside. And you have called me, you should have my number."

Luckily he did not push for subscriber number (In my mind I thought he will use it as excuse to deny me refund!)

But he still tried one last attempt to not to refund money. He said - "sir you said yes thats why package was activated"

But I denied it - i told him that i had said - "activate only if no charge"

So finally he said - "ok refund is approved"

What more - he said bit bluntly - "refund will be processed in N* hours - to baar baar call na kare!!"

*Dont remember how many hours he said
 
Similar thing happened to me. I was on SD connection, few months back one of their executive called me and insisting me to go for HD+ set top box. I clearly said, I am not keen on HD channels since mostly we watch Tamil channels at home. There is no Tamil HD channel at that time. I upgraded to HD + and two months 18 HD channels were available for free. After two months I deactivated HD channels. Airtel executives used to call me regularly to add HD channels, I politely refused. Recently I saw few HD channels in my TV, I was surprised. I called up CC, they said their back-end team activated 10 HD channels at the cost of Rs.100 per month, without even informing me. Also customers having HD+ box should subscribe for atleast 2 HD channels. I asked him then in that case he should activate 2 channels, why 10 ? I asked him to return back my SD box and take back HD box. I wanted immediate discontinuation of all HD channels, but it can not be done before one month. I really irritated, and decided to throw Airtel box out of my house. I have about Rs.500 balance in my account. I am planning for Tata Sky, once my airtel balance is nil.
 
Finally they refunded me 299Rs! Another guy called yesterday and again asked same thing - what was issue etc.

I was like, "hello everything was told, just yesterday to your CC (twice)". So that made it 3rd time!

Anyway. unnecessary waste of time and money (phone calls)
 


These fraud-sters again activated same plan and again deducted 299Rs from my account.

This time noone even called me.

How SHAMELESS can these people be at CHEATING?
 
2 days passed and no refund given for 2nd time they activated the plan without consent.
 
So fraud continues!!

Instead of refunding 299Rs they refunded 297Rs.

Possible reason? They refunded pro-rate basis.

But I am not going to ask them to refund 2Rs. Because if I ask for 2Rs they might do something else! :D
 
Nice to hear airtel refunded! :) They should have refunded Rs: 300! anyway better e-mail them to activate digital tv DND if airtel do have such service!
