I have seen that there is no difference between the picture quality in BIG TV and Airtel if we are using composite cables for both. BIG's component out provides a sharper picture - though, this is only by a small margin and is largely relevant only for texts and tickers. For movies and videos, the difference is marginal. I beleive the deciding factors boil down to the availability of the channels you watch and the pricing of the channels.

How many years life left in INSAT 4CR? If the Satellite disappears again, what will happen to the users? Any alternate options planned by Digital TV!!!

Since i watch in PC i can find the lack of quality in BIG tv.I hope Airtel will be better than this.

There is no lack of quality in BIG TV - it is like that of Tata Sky and Airtel. In fact owing to the component out of BIG TV, the picture is marginally better.

What's the resolution for these DTH services ??????? Is it the same SD or Is it DVD quality as advertised ?Can some one please get me the exact resolution ?thank you

Umm, DVD quality is SD (480 or 576 horizontal lines). HD is typically defined as 720 or 1080. All these services are "DVD quality" within that definition, which is what they mean by it.In other words, DTH picture is 10x better than conventional cable. But it's not HD.
