Airtel has also adopted deceptive practices by implementing a stricter bandwidth capping technique. Under this policy, users experience a 50% reduction in speed once they consume 1666GB out of their 3333GB Unlimited Broadband plan.

This policy, referred to as “BTA” in their Network Operations Center (NoC), activates when a user saturates their speed beyond 1666GB of data consumption. The BTA resets upon session disconnection but reactivates if the broadband line speed is saturated again.

source?? @charles.fe

Me Itself, I have 2 Airtel Connections at my end, I opened a complaint for reduced speed. After escalation of my complaint to different internal dept, one of their employee told me about BTA, he also told be that he was also unaware of something like this till now.

whats your location ?as in my office this month we crossed 2.5tb of data usage but never face speed decrease as u said using it in Bangalore...so is it location wise or something as in their T&C nothing such is written or are they implementing it recently @charles.fe

it could depend on various factors, maybe you both @charles.fe and @Sky21 have different connections type Individual or Business. or maybe on different plans. or it could be location too. So both results don't match.

I am just guessing. But I wouldn't be surprised if they have some sort of inner system to detect power hungry users and implement limitations
