Hmm... something fishy is definitely going on...... I just tested my speed 3 times on testmyspeed.net, and I am getting about 193kbps download, but upload speeds are around 212kbps!!! What is that about???If someone calls up Airtel, and gets anything out of them, please post.

Can you run few more tests during peak and non-peak hours and post the results please?

should be just enough

Anyone care to test out the online tv app from here

Try out the 128 k streams and let us know if you get much disconnections

Or even radio stations broadcasting at that rate on your favourite player.

Thanks.

Am thinking of switching to the Home 999 plan (256 unlim.)at the end of the month. Ppl who have already subscribed for this plan pls give ur experiences reg the following (sp. those from Delhi)1) Max d/l and u/l speeds as against promised 256 kbps2) speeds on torrents and other p2p applications (asking this coz i heard they give u a dynamic ip and port forwarding can only be done with a static one)3) Downtimes and stability4) Make of modem being providedThx

Yeah, seems fine - touches 27 kBps easily now.Winamp Video and radio stations of 320 kbps are playing decently well.Torrents & other P2P also would touch 30 kBps easily (if i used them).Downtime? NONE AT ALL!!! Airtel rocks, its stability is rock solid.Make of modem provided - depends on which one you choose. I chose the LAN modem, and therefore pay an additional Rs.99 rental every month (coz i did not BUY the modem outright).Model name - Web Distributor II

Yup I have to agree I switched to the 256 unlimited about 10 days ag. Pretty darn happy. Now downloading a little more than 2 gb a day with speeds of 25-30kbps u/d. Lost Season 1, about 15 gb of comics and a few movies. I recommend people switch to Airtel if they can afford it and its available, much better than cablewallahs bsnl and just about everyone else.
