well google has an official repository for ubuntu at least. so you can easily stay on the latest release from chrome developers. i have used it and it works great. not sure if they have enabled flash plugin support yet.

You're right. There is no reason why chrome can't run on Slackware after unpacking the deb packages.

i like firefox but still opera and ie8 should be there in my pc :dance:

i had read we can uninstall ie8 from windows 7 . how to do that any ideas?

you can disable it as a service. uninstall is i guess not possible. Uninstall, Disable, or Delete Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7 :: the How-To Geek

so u cannot actually uninstall it. just live with it.
